Kumiko was abandoned along with her sister, at a very young age. Therefore her and her sister had never known anything about their parents.

Kumiko had always looked up to her big sister, who had raised both of them meanwhile being a Demon Slayer.

Kumiko's sister had never talked, but she was an amazing listener.

She had always listened to Kumiko's stories of what she would do when she was a slayer.

One day unfortunately, when Kumiko came back home from buying food at the local store, she found her sister on the ground, dead.

There was blood all over on the ground, it was showered in blood.

She stood there in shock. 

Her sister was dead. And she didn't even get a chance to say goodbye.

She was heartbroken. She had nobody else left. After that day, she kept quiet.

She became a Demon Slayer a while later, and did amazingly. She made her own bombs, poisons, etc.

She became a slayer, and now she could have revenge for her sister.
