Thick gloomy clouds overpowered the shining sun. Cold air seeped through their clothes as heavy silence were heard. "We have successfully landed at HQ." the pilot announced, the huge backdoor opened and made way for the injured and exhausted soldiers. The medical team and rehabilitation staffs rushed to help the soldiers. Squad Venom walked out quiet, head lowered. No one even muttered a word, the silence in their group was suffocating them. Even if they wanted to communicate, they couldn't bring themselves to talk with one another.

"Squad Venom! Good to see you back!" Shaft greeted them as he jogged towards them. The moment he stopped, he knew something went wrong as their faces were grim. "Good to see you too, Colonel." Valentina replied, nonchalantly . She raised her head to look at him and saluted, the others followed with their remaining energy.

"What happened?"

It has been hours since we lost contact with them. My worry began to rise up as I internally panicked. I needed to maintain my composure, for my soldiers and people. The weather didn't helped even a bit, it only made the feeling in me worse. The Scouts and I have been waiting for hours, they wanted to stay in my office to keep updated.

"Where are they? It's been too long!" Hange said, her concern was heard from her statement. "What if something happened?" Jean muttered which made Eren punch his gut. "What the was that for?!" Jean exclaimed as he massaged the area that was harmed. "You aren't helping okay?! Everyone is worried and you're going to say things like that?!" Eren angrily replied, Jean stood quiet, knowing that his comrade was right.

"Maybe they're still travelling. Travelling from one place to another and back can be time consuming. Plus, considering the weather, they may have decided to stay at their location for the meantime." I stated, Erwin and Levi nod in agreement . Just then, three knocks were heard outside of my door. My anxiety leveled down as a small smile started to appear on my face. "Come in." I said as the door opened. Valentina, Connor, Audrey, and Alexander went in , their energy was drained.

' Maybe Y/N is using the bathroom .' I thought, not thinking the worse scenario that might happen.

"Squad Venom reporting for duty." Valentina said in a tired voice. I noticed her eyes were puffy, one of my eyebrows rose. "Where is your Captain? Valor should be the one to say that." I responded, the feeling in my gut started to level up again but luckily, it went unnoticed by them. My heart beat fasten from the sudden tension. I didn't want to think about it nor I want to know about it.

Squad Venom all lowered their heads making me and the Scouts look at each other with dread and confusion. "I'm afraid that Captain Valor wouldn't be able to be here anymore, General." Time suddenly went frozen, as if the world stopped rotating also. My eyes widened in horror, the statement that Valentina said made me feel to breakdown.

We stood there in silence for a good minute before I gathered all of my courage to reply. "What do you mean, soldier?" I asked, silent cries started to fill the room. "Captain F/N M/N Valor, fulfilled her duty until the end along with 63 soldiers. Captain Valor sacrificed her life for ours." she replied as my knees suddenly gave up on me, making me sit on my cold chair. Some stood quiet, not believing the news while others were crying silently, trying not to interrupt our talk.

I stared at them in disbelief, tears filled my eyes and fell down my face. One by one, the streaks of my tears dried then were wet again as the salty liquid droplets left my reddish eyes.

"I-it can't be." I said, it was the first time I ever stuttered. I started to breathe heavily, my hands turned into fists. My lips turned into a shaky frown. Eyes were all on me. "I'm sorry General. I'm so sorry." Valentina muttered as she dropped to the floor, on her knees.
