"Human's by nature are greedy."

Her body felt numb. It felt the same way when she found out that Makarov was the one that killed all those innocent people in that airport. It felt like a nightmare that plagued her mind but it wasn't a nightmare, it was real. The tears kept coming and she made no attempt to stop them even after they left the house. It was eerily quiet and it just made her cry even harder. They were gone, every single last one of them. All the people in the safe house were dead. She couldn't push herself to move the wooden boards away so she could escape. She was so scared to see Tamara's limp body. To see her lifeless eyes staring at nothing.

Lydia angrily questioned to herself why did Makarov have to do this. Why did he hurt everyone she loved and treasured? It's like he wanted her to feel the pain he went through throughout his entire life! He wanted her to suffer like he had suffer all those years and now. He doesn't think what he does is wrong, he thinks everything he does is for a cause. For a brighter future for them! For their baby! He was killing innocent people for his own pleasure, for his own game and he thought she was just going to be his fiance and stand besides him? He was so different when they first met. He was everything she asked for. A sweet, caring man who was willing to stick by her, be a husband and be there for his children, but instead she was fed lies. She wasn't going to allow him to raise her child, if he wanted her then he has to fight for her even if it means killing the woman he supposedly loved the most. Lydia swore at herself for not listening to her brother. He warned her that he was trouble.

After he told her that, he died in a car accident and Makarov wouldn't even let her save him. Save her own brother! He burned to death in that car. The state of shock she was in made her mind go blank and foggy. She just wanted to fall asleep and her request was being slowly granted. Her eyes felt very heavy and she shut them slowly without hesitation falling asleep to the sound of her brother's voice. Maybe she could just wake up from the nightmare she was suffering in and be by her brother's side once more.

She missed him so much.

*Lydia's dream/flashback*

"I can't believe I'm going to be a uncle!" exclaimed her older brother, Leonardo, happily as he rub her belly affectionately which made her laugh.

"I swear to god, if any of your buddies came in they're going to think your the father," she chuckled. Leonardo looked up at her smiling, his eyes full with playfulness.

"Well, they're going too Lydia! Since you been pregnant two? Three months? That idiot boyfriend of yours hasn't given you any special attention!" he replied. He was right though, since she got pregnant Makarov has been somewhat avoiding her and she had to admit, it hurt a tad bit.

"Something is off about him lately, Leonardo. He hasn't been acting himself lately," She said as she looked at him with a concern look plastered on her small face.

"What you do you mean?" questioned Leonardo as sat up straight and snuggled deeper into the couch while putting her legs on his lap to make her comfortable.

"He's been acting weird."

"Like?"

"He always stay in his little office with a bunch of his Russian friends. They always seem to be talking about one certain thing and the one thing I could understand from their russian talk was something about a airport." Leonardo gave her a surprised looked.

"You don't think he might be planning anything?"

"No," she said hesitantly, "He doesn't seem the type to hurt innocent people nor he doesn't look like the terrorist type," she answered him with Makarov acting strange around her, she was having her own doubts on much of a good man he actually was. Then to add to it, him suddenly treating her as if she didn't exist to him bothered her greatly but he has told her he had very serious business to take care of and reassured that everything was alright but that he was under a little stress.

"I don't trust him Lydia." She looked at her big brother and gave him a confused look.

"Why don't you trust him?"

"The way he looks at you Lydia. He looks at you like your a prize rather then a girlfriend I just don't like it," he answered as he gazed at her worriedly. She gave him a reassuring smile.

"Your just overreacting Leo, why can't you trust him? I trust him! Ain't that enough?" She answered as sleepiness started to creep up on her.

"Not for me it's not enough. He gotta gain and earn my trust Lydia, and take my warning. Something is way off about him and you know it better then I do."

"You're just being overprotective," She mumbled barely awake.

"Hey! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!"

*End of dream/flashback*

She heard a different voice rather then her brother's. She opened her eyes and could make out a dark figure hovering over her, gently shaking her by the shoulders. Suddenly, she was blinded by a bright light and let out a puppy whimper and attempted to push the light away just to have her arm be softly held back. "Pupils are dilated, most likely from shock," She heard a British voice say, "And she's heavily pregnant also." She blinked a few times so her eyes could adjust to the surroundings and rid of the dizzy spell she was feeling but slowly, she started seeing a face and what she saw made her heart jump to her throat. She was staring at a skull that had a pair of headphones on with dark shades and out of fear she screamed.

"G-get away from me!" She screamed panicking as she crawled backwards until the wooden boards behind her came into contact with her back. The skull headed man seemed to be taken aback for he jump back a bit not expecting her to be this alert.

"Hey, hey. Calm down sweetie. I ain't here to hurt you," cooed the skull guy softly as he stood up and walked a little closer to her but she let out a whimper that made him stop in his tracks. He didn't want to scare her anymore than she was already.

"Ghost you scared the living daylights outta her, let me talk to her," spoke up a Scottish voice and she watched as the skull man switch places with a man with a Mohawk. This man was dressed in military uniform and had many different weapons but Lydia could definitely tell that they didn't work for Makarov which made her relax a bit.

"What's your name sweetie?" questioned the Mohawk man in a gentle tone.

"L-Lydia," she answered frightfully.

"How long are you?" he asked motioning to her round stomach with his head.

"S-seven months."

"Boy or girl?" he questioned. He was attempting to make small talk with her.

"I-it's a little girl."

"And where's Dad? Does he know where you are?" Lydia shook her head a no at his question.

"I don't want him knowing where I am. I'm n-not safe with him," she answered truthfully. Her eyes gazed about the room, gazing at the various men that stood about looking at her before she realized how destroyed the room was. Everything hit her at once. Makarov's men. The screaming, the gunfire. She started crying. "Tamara? Where's Tamara?" she questioned through tears. The man looked away from her and looked at his right. She followed his gaze and saw a white blanket covering a body.

"Is she?"

"Yes. I'm sorry."

"And everybody else?"

"I'm afraid so," the man answered. She stared at him before looking down at her hands. She wanted to scream her lungs out but nothing came out. She was at lost for words. She couldn't understand the needless bloodshed. "C'mon love, let's take you somewhere safe and you can explain everything to us then. Okay?" Lydia numbly shook her head a yes. He stuck out his right hand and she hesitatingly took it. He put his other hand on her lower back and helped her stand up before picking her up bridal style. She buried her face into his chest, well most likely his bullet proof armor and closed her eyes as he started walking to get out of the residence. She wasn't ready to see the horror scene of her dead friend's bodies strewn about. Their blood staining every surface. Her baby started to kick her belly and she placed a loving hand on her belly to sooth her. She could hear an engine of a helicopter in the distance.

Makarov has taken nearly everything from her. But she wasn't going to let him take away her daughter from her.
