He hadn't bothered to show up to my house last night and I had to pretend that I wasn't bothered by that as I practically writhed with annoyance as I laid on my bed, my knees up and bent as Sarah paced around my room.

'I just can't believe it, I'm sure she has a vendetta against me. There is no way I didn't get an A on that pop quiz. I worked my butt off!'

My eyes stopped following her around the room as I looked solemnly at my hands in my lap.

'Are you okay?' Sarah asked, stopping in her tracks.

'Yeah I'm fine, it's just - are we really going to spend our whole Saturday going over this? Can't we go out and do something?' I whined, pleading at her with my eyes.

'Like what? This is Hawkins, there's nothing to do.' She grunted, raking her hands through her curly locks.

'Wonderful.' I rolled my eyes, looking away from her again and back at my hands.

'Hey! You're being super uppity today, whats gotten into you?' She asked, perching herself on the end of my bed.

'Nothing!' I snapped, garnering a wide eyed stare from Sarah.

More like everything.

'Nothing. Okay? I'm sorry I'm just irritable. I just wanna at least go out for a walk or something.' I sighed.

All of a sudden my doorbell let out a repetitive piercing ring, along with banging on the door. I glanced at Sarah before I stood up, tearing down the hall frantically.

I opened the door, not at all expecting what was standing before me.

'Dustin? What are you doing here? And'- I glanced to the left of him where my eyes locked with a girl I hadn't seen before. She had long red hair tied up into French plaits, piercing blue eyes and a nervous disposition about her.

'Max. We don't have time for introductions right now okay, we need to talk to you.' Dustin solicited.

'Wait what's going on? How did you find out where I lived?' I asked, utterly dazed by this situation.

'I hacked into the schools database, okay? Look, I need to know. Are you alone right now?' He asked, frantically.

'My Dad is at the store. Sarah's here she's upstairs. I said throwing my thumb in the direction behind me.

'Dustin can you please tell me what's going on? You're freaking me out.' I gave him a dry chuckle.

'It's about Eddie.'

I froze. Fear immediately cementing itself into my body and a hot flush rising up inside.

'Look, can we come in? We'll explain everything we just need you to cooperate and not freak out. This is gonna be a lot.' He sighed.
