They wait for her grandfather's return but it's been two days and he never returns.
Melody can't take it anymore. In the middle of the night, she quickly wore cloth with pants and picked up the sword she always used.
She brought a bag with food on it and medicine if ever his grandfather is hungry and injured and it's for her too since it might take longer of finding him.
"Take me with you," Ethalia appeared behind her with a serious look.
"Ethalia," Melody whispered. "No, you can't. It's too dangerous."
"It's also dangerous for you. You're also a woman like me. I know you know how to wield a sword but your enemy is experienced in swords. I don't want to lose my first best friend. I don't want to lose you, Melody," Ethalia hugged Melody. She is worried and she can't let her go.
"I'll be very careful and I will hide properly. I know it's not easy but I'll be fine. I have my ways," Melody said, trying to stop Ethalia from coming with her.
"No, I'll come with you. I'm quite skilled in swords. In my kingdom, I also learned how to wield a sword. So please, let me go with you, give me a chance to protect my friends," Ethalia insisted.
Melody sighed.
"Fine!" she agreed reluctantly, it's written all over her face.
"Me too! Me too! Let me come with you! I know how to use archer!" Merliya suddenly appeared behind them with an enthusiastic expression.
"Merliya! You can't! Wait, archery? You know how to use it? When? Why did you never mention this to us?" Melody asked.
"You never asked."
Melody couldn't help but facepalm.
"*Sigh* Ok, fine! You can do whatever you want," she reluctantly agreed, making the two women happy.
As they sneak out of the mansion, she never thought that they will meet her grandmother.
"Grandma? Why are you still awake?"
"What are you planning in the middle of the night? You're going to rescue your grandfather?" she's annoyed. They know she's angry.
They couldn't help but step back.
"Grandma?"
"Don't grandma grandma me here! You're all a woman! What can you do for your grandfather? If they caught you, they will take advantage of you and use you to threaten your grandfather," her grandmother said as a matter of fact.
"But---"
"Take your grandfather's shadow knight. I'll give this to you, Melody," she handed her a golden key with the patterns of their clan.
