After the agreement to make things right, Kaede's father went ahead to bring his car. He was very excited, it was still very odd to see him flip like this compared to last time.

Nevertheless, it seems that his reactions are genuine and I can't see any signs that hints at any ulterior motives, so we should be fine......but his genuineness is why I'm still keeping my guard up.

"You seem surprised right darling?" the mother stood next to me.

"Yeah, but I don't see anything suspicious about his actions so I'm not worried about that," I replied while keeping my face straight.

"do you think they'll make up?" she asked with worry.

"i don't know, but he wants that second chance to get his daughter back and be a good father to her, so i'm not going to deny him that chance.'' I replied, tilting my hat down a little.

"You don't seem to like it when people look at you, I want to say. the world is cruel that sometimes it's hard to look at, but beyond these is the beautiful side of it, so don't keep your head down darling, because you might miss one of these beautiful moments'' she said while smiling at me, i wouldn't have known if she didn't get down to look at me.

"your eyes are wonderful too, too bad you are covering them with this hat" she said as her smile grew wider, i never had anyone compliment my looks, let alone my eyes. I was always told that their color is that of pale skin, but that has been so long ago.

After the brief chat, the car arrived and we hopped in, heading to my house. I just hope that Kaede doesn't freak out too much.

as he parked i told them to wait a bit before knocking so that i can bring her to the living room.

when i went in, much to my surprise, she was in the living room sitting on the sofa, watching a movie "hey Shuichi welcome back, want to watch a movie with me?" she asked excitedly.

"yeah sure, I'll be right there but how did you get here?" I asked as I sat on the chair close to her.

"i Just used the wall to get down here and I couldn't keep relying on you so I wanted to start putting some effort myself!" she exclaimed.

"Fair enough," I said as I turned to face the screen.

shortly after, the doorbell rang "im coming!" I shouted as I went to get the Door.

when her parents entered her line of sight, i could see her starting to panic
"Kaede, they won't do anything to you, I promise" I said , reassuring her.

After I was sure that she was calm, I left to prepare a light dinner for everyone.

After all was done I called out to everyone, and carried Kaede to the table. Despite what she said, her legs were still too weak to handle too much movement, i sat closer to her to help give her a sense of comfort and safety.

"Kaede..." her father began "i want to apologize, i know that i wasn't the best father for you but i would like to change that, so please give me a second chance" he said while almost tearing up, although i have to say that this was the weakest apology i have ever seen.

"I know you didn't mean all that, so I forgive you," Kaede responded.

'hahah, it seems she is an easy person to get forgiveness from Shuichi,' Talon said sarcastically.

"Well then..........dig in everyone, I hope you enjoy the dinner" i said nervously, I still can't believe they made up so easily.

We began eating and it only took one bite before everyone started giving me looks of admiration.

"Wow, this is so good, I didn't know you were such a good cook, uh....oh my, we haven't gotten to know your name," the mother exclaimed.

"It's Shuichi Mrs.akamatsu, Shuichi Saihara" I replied.

"oh what a nice name, and what school do you go to?" she asked while her eyes were sparkling.

"uh yes, i attend hope's peak just like Kaede and i'm the Ultimate Detective" i answered.

What happened next was her father started choking on his food with an expression of horror while the mother dropped her fork. I'm not sure what part of my answer caused that but they'll say it in a bit.

"Kaede, not only did you get lucky by being in the care of an ultimate but an ultimate detective who seems to know just about everything, totally-"

"uh, Mrs.Akamatsu, please don't" I quickly interrupted her.

"darling, let's just finish up and get back, Kaede needs to rest, and i'm sure she misses her room" the Father piped up.

"Wait, my room?" Kaede shouted.

"yeah, You will be going back to your home" i followed up.

"but i don't want to go back, i want to stay here-"

"Kaede, i know you aren't that happy here, there is no piano, no one to tend to your needs all the time, and i can see it in your eyes everyday, i know that you are satisfied but you are not fully satisfied and it pains me, its like im keeping you locked in here, and i don't want to do that" i interrupted her shouting.

After a brief silence I continued "this doesn't mean that I'm not going to visit you, you know. I'll keep checking up on you and even hang out with you if you wish to" i reassured the pianist.

"You better, or I'll send a mob after you to bring you to me and live with us forever" she said as she got rid of the tears in her eyes.

"hahah, well, I'll be sure to keep that promise" I replied.

After that, Kaede packed up some of the stuff I had here for her, mainly some novels and snacks that she liked.

Before she left, we exchanged a long embrace that her dad had to carry her which resulted in an adorable pouty face from her.

"It seems you have scored, Shuichi," the mother said as she stood next to me.

"maybe, but it's too soon to say for sure," I replied.

"I have a feeling that i will like your presence a lot more in the future, looking forward to your visits to Shuichi" she said smiling.

With that, they got in and left for their mansion. I stayed there watching the car's silhouette grow ever so smaller.

'It feels lonely being all by yourself now doesn't it' Talon said as I closed the door.

'you don't say, of course it is, but at least one task is done, tomorrow is when i finish my second task then on to taking down Sarkis and rescuing Keebo' i said as i looked around the room, the images of Kaede everywhere appearing as if they were hallucinations.

If I want to see these as reality, I need to focus.

for the sake of Kaede and everyone.

though one thing is bothering me is her father's reaction, instead of a surprised expression he showed one of horror, what was he afraid of?

Author's Note: Kaede's mom is now officially riding the Saimatsu Train ladies and Gents, hell yeah.
