youngmin woke up to the sound of a door opening and closing, blinking a few times so his eyes could adjust, he looked down at hyejin before letting his gaze drift over to the door. his eyebrows furrowed in confusion and he couldn't help but tense slightly as the awareness of the situation came crashing down onto him. now fully awake, youngmin sat up a little and pulled hyejin a little closer so if anything were to happen he could at least protect her. he had swore hyejin locked the door last night but that could've just been his imagination.

walking into the house with a small hum, the supposed intruder paused as they made eye contact with youngmin upon entering the living room. said intruder was in fact a girl, seeming to be around hyejin's age and looked oddly familiar. it took a moment of just staring at the girl for youngmin to come to the shocking yet embarrasing conclusion. this girl. the supposed intruder. was none other than one of hyejin's roommates.

face turning bright red, youngmin loosened his grip on hyejin and opened his mouth to explain only for the girl to hold up her hand with a knowing smirk. keeping her voice soft and quiet she spoke being sure not to wake hyejin

"no need to explain. i haven't seen her this peaceful in god knows how long" smiling she made her way to the hallway "i just came to drop my bag off, i'll leave you two be for now" shooting youngmin a wink she continued her short journey to her bedroom leaving an embarrassed youngmin behind on the couch.

by the time hyejin woke up, seolhyun -who youngmin came to learn just as she was leaving- had left and youngmin was in the kitchen making breakfast. it had taken him a good ten minutes to find where everything was and actually decide on what to make but the sparkle in hyejin's eyes as she walked into the kitchen made it all worth it. walking in hyejin tried to peek over youngmin's shoulder in order to see what he was making but quickly gave up and instead peeked from behind his arm as he was too tall.

"what'cha making?"

"eggs and bacon to go with the pancakes i made"

hyejin couldn't stop the bright excited smile that made it's way to her face at the mention of pancakes and pulled youngmin into a back hug out of excitment, being careful as he was still cooking.

"how'd you know? pancakes are my favorite!" pulling away she got on her tippy toes and pecked youngmin's cheek before running to the dining table "i'll set the table!"

youngmin simply smiled with a small blush as he finished up with the bacon and eggs. hyejin had luckily woken up just as he was finishing so it wasn't long until he plated the food and placed them on the dining table. after making sure that the stove was off, youngmin got them both an arizona tea -quietly noting the lack of drinks in her fridge- before joining hyejin at the table.

hyejin wasted no time in taking a big bite of her pancakes. the soft hum of satisfaction that followed after the bite immediately caught youngmins attention as he felt his chest swell with pride, simply glad he was able to make something hyejin liked. the rest of breakfast was spent in a comforting silence.

once they both finished breakfast hyejin thanked youngmin before starting on the dishes. youngmin had reassured her that he could do them but she was very adamant about doing them herself. so with a sigh youngmin gave up and was now currently watching tv in the living room. he was watching an animal documentary, originally he was gonna change it but it got interesting fairly fast. next thing he knew he was learning about penguins and how they cared for their young.

halfway through the show he was now invested in, his phone went off signalling a call. quickly grabbing his phone youngmin glanced at the caller ID before answering with a small sigh.

hyejin let out a satisfied hum as she finished up with the last of the dishes. drying off her hands, she made her way to the livingroom about to ask youngmin what he wanted to do, only to pause as she saw he was on the phone. silently making her way over to the couch, she sat down besides youngmin and turned her attention towards the documentary as she patiently waited for him to be done with the call. hyejin honestly didn't expect much when she turned her attention to the documentary. she wasn't even expecting to pay attention to it, but to her suprise, the show was quick to captivate her. upon seeing the baby penguins waddling around, hyejin couldn't help but let out a small "awe~" as she silently gushed at how cute they were. she was so caught up in the show in fact, that she didn't even realize youngmin had finished his call, not until she felt his arm wrap around her waist.

turning her attention back to youngmin, hyejin smiled before scooting closer in order to lean against his chest. while they weren't dating (officially), they both silently agreed to act like a couple -which was a huge step for hyejin.

"who was it?"

"hyuk, he wanted me to come to practice with him" youngmin informed softly as his gaze shifted from hyejin towards the tv with a content sigh. following his gaze, hyejin let out a hum as her head fell back onto his shoulder as it was more comfortable.

"does that mean you have to go?"

youngmin couldn't help but let out a small sigh as he looked down sadly, he had hoped he could at least spend the day with hyejin. he had already planned a cute cafe date followed by going to an arcade he knew of and everything but he couldn't say no to hyuk. why couldn't he say no? well it's simple. hyuk KNEW he was with hyejin. he KNEW youngmin wanted to stay with her and youngmin knew that hyuk would respect that. so, the reason hyuk was pulling him away from his precious alone time with hyejin must be important.

"yes but i can cuddle you a little longer" pulling her closer youngmin smiled before placing a small kiss onto her head "i'm sure he won't mind me being late"

shaking her head, hyejin smiled before leaning up to kiss youngmin's cheek "as nice as that sounds, you shouldn't keep hyuk waiting" getting up she held out her hand to youngmin so she could help him up from the couch "we can hangout another time"

getting up with hyejin's help, youngmin let out a sigh before leaning down to peck her lips "fine... I'll keep in touch"

hyejin watched his retreating figure with a small frown, waiting until youngmin was gone before letting herself fall back onto the couch. staring at the tv for awhile she thought about things she could do only to come up empty. everything sounded boring so instead she made her way back to her bedroom in hopes of finding something that could entertain her. as hyejin looked around the room she froze upon seeing a note resting on her bedside table, walking over she read it a few times before a wide smile made it's way to her face
