Part 18 

we all stand inside the Chateau as Sarah explains how she found the island room when Pope grabs out this diary thing from his pants making us look at him a bit confused

P- I was given this it's the dairy of Denmark, it says the holy garment within the cross heals people from sickness, which explains why Carla wants it so badly.

S- wait rowen remember that painting of Denmark that's in dad's office?

I think on it for a few moments before coming to a realization

R- holy shit, the map! it's behind that painting!

K- sorry, what?

S- we found that map a long time ago when we were messing around in his office

R- Rafe knocked it off and so it must still be there

we all looked at each other before agreeing to go. we got into the twinkie as John B started to drive straight to our place. Sarah was the one to go in and get it before she comes back it with it handing it to Kie before we started to follow it. it led us to this place so we all carefully got out of the twinkie hiding behind the tree like brush as we saw Carla working with Rafe and her men, I mentally cursed as we watched them find a casket buried beneath the angel oak. Carla opens the casket shockily revealing that the cross isn't in there, only a corpse. we watch them leave before we go in for a closer look

P- wait guys, this corpse belongs to Cecilia, Denmark's wife

J- so?

Pope scuffed as he continued what he was saying

P- it means that the treasure is buried at the foot of the angel referring to his dead wife

JJ looked around before he moves closer to the tree making us look at him

JJ- there's a part of the tree that resembles a section of the painting from Island Room.

we all look a little bit longer after realizing there's probably something we are missing before JJ grabs something. it's a spy glass

JJ- guys look at this, there's something in it

he had the thing up to his eye, so John B took it from him opening it before grabbing out the message that read "you've come this far, do not falter. the cross is on the Freedman's alter."

S- what does that even mean?

R- the freedmen alter... it's in the church! 

we all rush back to the twinkie driving straight to the church but sadly along the way we start to drive through this trail thing but the tride comes in causing the twinkie to grow stuck. we all quickly get out standing in the murky water as John B, Pope and JJ tried to push the twinkie out realizing it won't budge

K- we can use my dad's truck to get the twinkie out

we all look at each other agreeing with her idea before JJ said he was going to go with her. he walked over to me holding my face as I looked up at him

R- be safe, okay?

JJ- I will, I promise

R- I love you

he kisses me before mumbling a i love you back to me than we parted way as he went with Kie. 

P- hey don't worry Rowan, he will be okay

R- I hope so

Kie's POV

As JJ and I get to my place getting the truck before starting to drive, he had me pull into a storage so he could grab something, so I got out of the truck and waited for him as he did. out of nowhere, JJ walks out with Luke and my face quickly drops

K- no what the hell JJ!

JJ- i will explain okay just let me do this

Luke gets into the back of the truck leaving me out with JJ 

K- what the hell is he doing here JJ?!

JJ- he got out of jail, and he needs a boat to get out of here so I'm helping him

K- no JJ no!

he grabs my shoulders turning me to him as I look at him

JJ- just trust me on this, okay?! If helping him means he is gone out of my life than so, be it

I sighed nodding to him as we both got in the truck, JJ had me drive to the store leaving me in the car with Luke. I was okay with it until Luke started talking which was bringing me to my breaking point

K- do you have any idea how amazing your son is? like any clue? of course you don't. your nothing but a wasted local salt who never did shit but get messed up and hustle people

he scuffed leaning forward so his head was close to mine as I kept looking forward 

L- you are just like your mother, both stuck up and think your better than everyone else. get whay you want and leave

I quickly reached back punching him in the nose as I looked at him

K- don't talk about my family.

I turned back around as JJ came back.  I drove to the spot and JJ got out with Luke

K- hey Luke!

he turned to me as I flipped him off, he was about to walk to me but JJ got in front of him stopping him before making him walk. JJ finally got him on the boat before walking back to the truck where we had to drive all the way back to the twinkie

Rowan's POV

Well, we were waiting for them to return, Sarah and me were sitting on top of the twinkie while John B and Pope were standing in the water. When John B was dragged under, it happened so fast. we jumped down from the twinkie and rushed over to him with Pope helping him now realizing what had dragged him under, it was a alligator. we pull John B on top of the twinkie giving Sarah the chance to start to patch up his leg after seeing how bad the damage was, not even minutes after JJ and Kie finally arrive back. Pope explains everything that just happened clearly pissed that they took so long

JJ- I just helped my dad leave the island. at this point you guys are all I have left, I'm sorry we took so long but I just did something that I never thought I would do. I need you guys now and you guys are my family, excluding Rowen because that's weird but you guys get the point.

everyone but me sarcastically claps as I roll my eyes. after that moment, we finally get the twinkie out of the marsh before I ride with Kie and JJ to the church with the other three riding in the twinkie. when we arrive, we all head inside starting to search around for the cross. but there's sign of the cross making me grow a little bothered by that. that was until Pope noticed that there are crosses within the structure of the church. Despite it's crumbling hatue, pope climbs the thing and he finds the cross making us cheer for him below. But right after he finds it everything starts to go down hill so fast, Pope starts getting stung by wasp and he falls from the structure landing on the ground. we all ran to check on him when the cross started to fall heading straight for pope.
