ADAMAWA STATE, NIGERIA.

Today is the day Zayd is supposed to come back from his two days trip to Greenwich Village and she is not looking forward to his return because she is not feeling it in her. She still feels like that pregnant woman. She went to do another test just yesterday and nothing, everything is out so the reason why she is all moody and fatigued all the time is really beyond her. Or is it because she is leaving the country soon?

She's going to miss the place and people she's come to tolerate there because she's never stayed in a country for longer than necessary. Here in Nigeria, things are much better than any other country she's been to and she's been to quite a lot of them. She got tired of Europe and decided to land in Africa where she's met so many amazing people. People she's started getting unhealthily attached to.

But fear not, she consoled herself. She is going to do her last task here in Nigeria, uniting two lovers. Are they really lovers though? They are friends if they aren't lovers and friendship is a very good start, it should always start up with that. You cannot just make somebody fall in love with you when they don't want to, you have no right to do such thing. Or you might end up going the wrong way because you hardly know one another.

Teems and Kareem are going to be such a great pair, beautiful couple that will definitely promise cute children in the near future. Loads of them too if they want. But with both their eyes blind with nonsense and lack of courage, someone has to interfere and she feels like she is the one? Yeah, one more charitable thing to do so she gets remembered time and time again after she's left.

With all the things she's learned from Zayd about her religion and the things she's read, she is way far behind. She is catching up quiet well though with the prayers, supplications and other main things she needs to know. He's recommended many books, soft copies and even gave her some of his, hard copies while he was still going to Islamic school. Miraculously, she had no problem reading Arabic!

They were both shocked when she started joining the words with their headings and dots and whatnot. She's once lived in an apartment with Arabians back in Canada, theirs was very fluent.

". . .where are you lost now, Layyah?" Lana's voice startled her away from her train of thoughts, she really would've forgotten she was on phone.

She tried remembering what they were talking about then it came rushing. "Yes, as I was saying. You've been with Teems more these past few days so I was wondering whether she is seeing someone or not? She's been single for ages so maybe this one is going slow?"

She might be a bad bitch but she is also very much considerate. She won't want Kareem to have false hopes only for Teems to crush them down with something serious going on that no one knows about. Lana on the other hand will know every single thing going on with Teems, they hang around a lot and nothing escapes Lana's eyes as stupid as she might want to look. She tend to be very observant when she wants to be. Especially in peoples affairs.

"I don't think she is seeing anyone. The mere thought of being with someone makes her skin crawl, not that I blame her for that. That useless imbecile crushed her when she gave him her all, she shouldn't trust men anymore. Had I been in her place, I won't ever think about marriage ever again. I mean, did you see the way Hamdan left her for that ugly stick? I can't believe men sometimes, seriously. . ." Her rant went on for another fifty seconds before she stopped to take deep breaths.

Layla almost smiled, she's missed having Lana around her all the day to keep her mind off a lot of things. The last time she's seen the girl was a week ago, she wants to start keeping distance before the time comes. Maybe if they don't vibe a lot now, they won't feel too much pain when she finally leaves the country with only a text message or perhaps a letter for more sentiment? So they can keep it and read whenever they miss her.
