ADAMAWA STATE, NIGERIA.
By eight o'clock in the evening, the whole family started dispersing after being reassured that he is now stable by the doctors that came to treat him. Faizan on the other hand was sent to the hospital since his injury is more severe than Zayd's. His family members are currently with him at the barracks's hospital as he receive treatment.
Nayla on the other hand joyfully made her way back home with a wide smile larger than life. She cannot wait to tell Aslam about this news she's seen. She's been waiting for an aperture to cause a rift between Layla and Aslam because even though it looks like her son has feelings for Layla, she doesn't feel the same for him. She is a mother and she's seen right through the girl, she is after something other than love and she'd be damned if she doesn't find out what it is.
Now it's been confirmed that whatever it is that is going on between her son and her is not but rubbish they decided to build up. Though with this news now, she is going to create a huge rift that will probably shatter their friendship and whatever they might have going on.
She relaxed back in her room knowing her husband won't be home for that day, he is off to some night duty. She took a long relaxing bathe, clean herself and did all her night routine for her skin then let a cool night gown land softly on her body. Ambling to the bed, she sat down with her back on the headboard and legs crossed in front of her on the bed. An evil smile spread itself on her lips before she took her phone from the bedside table.
Right before she dialed the number, she tilted her head to the side to take a long gulp of her night green tea. Her maid just brought it in for her after her shower like a usual routine. She needs it more than any other time that night because she's got a weapon in her hand that will ruin what she's been trying to annihilate for a while now. Layla herself made things very very easy for her, the good street girl.
She dialed the number and place the cool device to her ear, waiting patiently for her son to pick up the call which he did seconds later.
"Good evening, mom?" His voice sounded confused and she could understand why. She hardly calls him but now she is calling him around nine in the evening? Maybe something is terribly wrong.
She took her time before replying. Her gist is quiet expensive. "Evening. You've received any call from your sisters? Or better yet from Teems?" Since Na'ima is already in Massachusetts settling down for her studies.
"No, she didn't call me. Is she alright? Is something wrong with her?" A note of concern for his younger sister she noted with a raised brow. They are really close but just not with her.
"She is fine. Zayd is back."
"Oh. . ." But all he wanted to say was 'So?' since this isn't his first time going on deployments and they've never called to tell him about it. He just sees his posts and then congratulate him or call him whenever he is free.
Nayla again took her time trying to mold the news into a good juice. "No one told you what has happened? Alim didn't call you too?"
"No one called me. Can you go straight to the point? I have so many things here pending and it's quiet late." The curiosity and intrigue in his voice didn't go unnoticed but he managed to talk in the most respectful tone he could use.
"Well, I don't know what is really between you and that Layla girl but when Zayd came back today, he kissed her. I agree he was brutally hurt and all that but he knew what he was doing when he hugged her to him and kissed her. And the worst part, she responded with the same energy. If he was drunk, she wasn't." She made her tone sound as chiding as possible like a caring mother when she wants to jump in glee that things are going to come to an end.
