Evening of the firework show...

"Ray's gonna be here soon, are you ready?" Frank asked from behind the door.
"Is this good enough?" I asked, opening the door and showing him my outfit.
"He'll love it"
There was a knock at the front door.
I went to the door but Frank got there first.
He opened to door and stepped behind it, hiding himself and leaving me in the light.
Ray was standing there, looking nervous.
"Hello sunshine" I smiled. "You look handsome"
A light blush creeped onto his face.
"Thank you" he sighed. "We should get going"
"Yeah"
He took me to his car and opened the door for me.
"Oh such a gentleman" I said with a smile.
"Anything for you rain cloud"
He got into the car and turned it on.

When we got to the field Ray got a blanket for the backseat and we found a spot to sit in.

We sat there waiting for the fireworks to start.
Ray put an arm around me and pulled me closer to him.
I rested my head on his shoulder.
"Look" Ray pointed at the first firework.
It blasted in the shape of a star.
"Pretty" I sighed.

We watched the fireworks for a while before Ray spoke up. "Hey?"
"Yes? I answered.
He turned to look at me in the eyes.
"Since the day we met, I've felt different, I'm happier but I've had this burning feeling in my chest. Y/N, I love you"
"Ray, I... I-"
"I understand if you don't feel the same, I'm gonna go" he sighed, getting up from the blanket.
"No, Ray, Wait" I said, getting up after him.
"Rai- Y/N, I get it, You like Gerard"
"Ray!" I grabbed his hand.
I pulled him closer to me and looked into his eyes again. "You're my sunshine"
I closed my eyes and put my lips on his.
I heard the whistle of a firework and looked up.
And so did Ray.
It was red and gold in the shape of a heart.
I looked back at him. "I want to do that again"
I wrapped my arms around his waist.
He took a deep breath, closed his eyes and kissed me again.
His lips were soft. I felt him put his hand on the back of my neck, deepening the kiss.

Ray pulled away, slowly and carefully.
"My little rain cloud" he whispered, hugging me. I felt him shiver slightly, he... he was crying.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I thought I wasn't good enough for you"
"Oh Ray, you're perfect"
I brushed some of his curls away from his face.
"Don't you ever forget that" I gave him a small kiss on the nose.
