I cleared my throat when Ryle sat beside me on the bus. Pauwi na kami ngayaon.
That night, he got tired after crying kaya ako na ang naghatid sa kaniya sa room niya. He didn't say a word even now.
"Did you have a good sleep?" I asked hesitantly.
He glanced at me and smiled genuinely. "Yes, thanks to you. The heavy feelings I have stored for many years was finally removed," nagulat ako sa sinabi niya.
I mean, I didn't expect him to say something like that. Palagi kasing tipid ang mga salita niya.
I looked away when I felt that my cheeks were burning.
Wala na, talo na'ko. Hulog na hulog na ako sa'yo,Sandoval!
We kept silent until we arrived back. I didn't got the chance to bid him my goodbye because the students were looking at us suspiciously.
Nang makauwi ay sinalubong ako ni mama ng isang mahigpit na yakap. I gave her the gifts I brought. Tuwang tuwa siya kaya nanlambot ang puso ko.
Nakakunot ang aking noo nang pumasok ako sa classroom. Reigna smiled at me widely when I sat beside her.
"Narinig mo na ang chismis?" she asked and I shook my head.
"Maayos na sina Baste at Ryle," she giggled.
"Huh?Baste?"
"Sebastian."
Ilang sandali pa bago maproseso sa utak ko ang sinabi niya.
"Y-you mean , nagkaayos na sila?" I asked and she nodded repeatedly.
"Like they're really back as bestfriends?" pagkukumpirma ko.
She rolled her eyes. "Oo nga!"
Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala. Iginala ko angmata sa paligid. They're still not here.
"Nasa court sila," mukhang nabasa na ni Reigna ang tanong ko.
"Bakit?"
"They joined the basketball team togther," she replied and my jaw dropped.
Kaya naman habang nagdidiscuss si ma'am ayhindi ako makapagfocus. Gustong gusto ko na silang makita. i need to seet it by my own eyes to believe it!
Kaya naman ng recess na ay kumaripas ako ng takbo papunta sa basketball court. Reigna was even shouting my name as she followed me.
Hinihingal akong napahinto mismo sa court.
Sebastian was the first one to notice me. He waved me and that's when Ryle looked back at me. Ang braso niya ay nasa balikat ni SEbastian.
Namuo anng mga luha sa aking mata. I don't know why I was so emotional! I was just so happy!
I was shocked when Ryle ran towards me and pulled me into a tight hug. I smiled and hugged him back.
"Thank you," he whispered. "Thank you for giving me the courage."
He let go of me and I heard Sebastian's whistle, he had this playful smile plastered on his face.
Nagulat ako ng bigla akong batukan ni Reigna na kakarating lang. She held her chest and glared at me. I just showed her a peace sign.
Sebastian went to her and I gasped what he did next. He kissed her lips!
Napatakip ako sa bibig at mahinang tumili. They were so fast.
"Kayo na?" I asked.
Sebastian laughed. "Hindi."
"Eh,ano kayo?" Ryle asked.
Sebastian winked. "Friends."
Ryle closed his eyes tightly. "Friends, amputa."
Mabilis na lumipas ang mga araw. Ryle and I were on good terms. Mas nagiging close kami. I think I'm falling for him na.
Posible palang mahulog kahit sa maikling panahon? I just wish he could catch me.
"Soleil, tignan mo 'yun oh," inginuso ni Reigna sa likod.
I looked at my back and I saw a beautiful girl talking to Ryle. I think she was telling something and Ryle laughed.
Ngumuso ako. Gusto kong magselos. GUsto ko siyang ipagdamot pero wala naman akong karapatan.
Ryle glanced at me and smiled. Umirap lang ako sa kaniya at itinuon ang pansin sa harapan. Aral muna bago landi!
When we were dismissed, Ryle waited for me outside the door.
Hindi ko siya pinansin at nilampasan lang siya.
"What's the matter?" he looked like an in innocent kid.
"What's the matter?" I mimicked him.
Umawang ang labi niya. "May nagawa ba akong mali?"
I faked my smile. "Wala. Tsaka, ba't mo pa ako hinintay. Dapat nagsabay na kayo nung bebe labs mo."
He bit his lip, supressing a laugh. "Bebe labs? Who?"
"Gretta," tukoy ko sa napakagandang babae kanina.
He stopped and held my wrist. "The fuck? She's not my bebe labs," he said, amused.
"Wala akong pake," I said. I tried to walk but he stopped me from pulling my wrist.
"Jelly jelly," he teased.
I looked away. "'Di ah, feeling mo naman."
He bit his lower lip. "Why are you jealous?" he asked even though he knew the obvious answer.
I am transparent and he could see through me. Alam kong alam niya na gusto ko siya pero nagpapanggap lang siyang parang wala lang.
"Come on, Reese..tell me why," hinaplos niya ang kamay ko.
I glared at him. "I like you, asshole."
