Ajaya sat perched on a barstool at the kitchen island, her gaze fixed on Spade as he gracefully navigated the kitchen. The rhythmic clinking of pots and pans created a soothing background melody, yet her mind was a storm of thoughts and emotions. She absentmindedly ran her fingers through her tangled curls, a habit she'd picked up when lost in her own world.
As her gaze trailed Spade's confident stride, she couldn't help but be captivated by his magnetic aura. His sex appeal radiated through every deliberate gesture, making her heart race with a heady mix of attraction and curiosity. She watched with as he skillfully cracked eggs into a bowl, his hands moving with a sensuously. His hands moved with practiced ease. It was a simple act, but it spoke volumes to her, not only was it sexy , but it was a silent promise of support and care.
Deep within the recesses of her mind, she questioned the unconventional path she had chosen and the uncharted territory she was venturing into with Spade. It was a world away from the conventional life she had imagined for herself, yet an alluring promise of something new and exhilarating tugged at her soul.
As Spade's voice broke through the fog, she blinked, her gaze refocusing on him. She realized she had been no lost in her thoughts, oblivious to his attempts at conversation. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
"You don't hear me Jay ?" He questioned staring at her with a raised eyebrow .
"I'm sorry what'd you say?" She responded clearing her throat and focusing her attention on him .
"I asked if you wanted syrup or jelly with your waffles ," he spoke while fixing her a plate with bacon, eggs, and waffles .
"Syrup please" she responded with a smile, taking the plate out of his hand . He handed her the syrup and watched her as she poured it over her plate . He stood with his back to the sink and sipped a glass of orange juice as she began to eat .
He honestly couldn't even believe that he had walked up on her the way he had. The unexpected encounter in the hospital had left Spade reeling with disbelief and a strange sense of fate at play. The shock of discovering Ajaya's pregnancy had only intensified his emotions, yet in a curious way, it solidified the thoughts that had been dancing in his mind—that he had to have her . The universe had conspired to bring them face to face, and he couldn't ignore the gravity of the moment.Spade knew what he wanted . Her . He wasn't sure what exactly it was that she wanted , he just hoped she wanted him in return as bad as he wanted her .
"You're staring," she spoke while stuffing a fork full of eggs in her mouth causing him to smirk
"You know I've been looking for you right ? You like a ghost out here . A nigga couldn't find any info on you" he spoke sipping from his glass once more .
"Maybe you weren't looking hard enough" she responded to him finishing up the food on her plate .
"Shidd" Spade responded with a slight laugh causing her to smirk . She was intrigued knowing that he'd been looking for her .
"You ready to tell me about you?" He said as he walked around the counter and helped her down from her chair . He guided her into the living room and they sat on the couch across from one another .
Ajaya kicked off her shoes and crossed her legs on the couch. She asked him what he wanted to know and he'd told her everything. She began by opening up to him about her and he sisters childhood . The two seemed to bond over the fact that they had both grown up in the system . As they talked back and forward they shared details with one another about the both of their lives .
They seemed to be so lost in one another , an hour and a half had gone by and the two of them hadn't even noticed because they were so engaged in the conversation that they were having.
