Steve's POV

Robin and I were on our way to the Wheeler's residence to pick up Nancy and a few of her boxes of important stuff. All of her other stuff was being delivered in a moving truck.

Once we got there, Robin and I walked up to the door and walked into the house.

"Hey, kids!" Mrs. Wheeler said.

"Oh yes, don't bother knocking" Ted said, sarcastically.

We headed up to Nancy's bedroom, we opened her door and Robin walked in to the room first, knocking over a pile of boxes, scaring Nancy, she didn't realize that we were there.

"Jesus, Robin" Nancy whisper yelled.

"Sorry, Nance" Robin said, sheepishly.

I walked in and grabbed a box labeled "Clothes".

Once we filled up my car and Nancy's car with boxes, she said her goodbyes to her family and we headed home. Eddie was at band practice and wouldn't be home until right around the time we would be finished unpacking Nancy, seemed pretty convenient for him.

Nancy got in her car and Robin chose to go with me "Just in case your cold medicine makes you fall asleep" she said. I had recently come down with a bad cough and Eddie was pumping me full of medicine and soup.

The drive was only about 15 minutes from the Wheeler house, but when you're in the car with Robin, it feels like hours. I swear to god, she never shuts up.

"So...are you excited?" She asked as we drove out of the Wheelers' driveway.

"Excited about what?" I asked.

"Getting to live with Nance" She smiled a sort of sad smile, like she was happy for me but not happy in general.

"Jesus, Rob. We've been over this. Nice and I are just friends, this is like me asking if you like Eddie" I pretty much yelled at her.

"Jeez, no need to yell, Dingus" She replied "Do you have your eyes on anyone at the moment?"

"No." I said, completely lying "You?"

"No." She said, obviously lying.

"Who is it, Robin?" I asked.

"I can't tell you"

"And why is that?"

"I don't know if its platonic feelings or romantic ones, I can't be sure just yet" She stated.

"Do I know her?" I asked, genuinely curious.

"No comment. End of conversation" She said, bluntly.

"What the fuck, Rob? I know this girl?" I half-yelled.

She didn't answer me and I spent the rest of the car ride asking her about this mystery girl. I never got any definitive answers though.

We pulled into the condo complex driveway and got out of the car, Nancy just behind us.

"Home Sweet home" I stated, smelling the chlorine from the community pool next door.

"Grab a box, Douchebag" Robin practically knocked me over with the box as she 'handed' it to me, it was more like a god damn throw.

***

Once we finished setting Nancy's room up, we showed her where everything was. The layout of the condo was quite simple. Nancy and Robin's rooms were upstairs and Eddie and I lived downstairs.

After about three hours of unpacking and showing Nancy around, Eddie finally came home.

We made him make dinner, which was just him making grilled cheeses for everyone. We decided to eat in the living room, due to the sheer coziness of it.

"So, how you liking the new place, Wheeler?" Eddie asked, taking a bite out of his grilled cheese.

"Well, I haven't been here for long, so it's hard to say" Nancy smiled.

Just then, Robin starting coughing like crazy, Nancy rushed to her side and Eddie passed her his water glass.

She took a sip of his water and was able to start breathing properly again.

"I'd say that you got what Harrington has" Eddie plainly stated, rubbing circles on Robin's back.

"Jesus Steve, you're gonna make us all sick!" Nancy said, jokingly, getting the cough syrup ready just in case our coughs got worse.

"Ha ha, very funny" I sarcastically laughed "So Eds, have you found a girl? You've been out quite a bit lately" I changed the subject.

"No, I've been focusing on the band. With training, I haven't found much time to practice with them" Eddie answered.

School had been out since the 'earthquake'. It had gotten very damaged and it was in the process of being rebuilt.

School was held at the community centre and the seniors who took the important classes first term, were able to graduate if their grades were good enough.

This applied to Robin, Eddie and Nancy, they took the short courses at the centre and graduated two days before Nancy moved in.

After about fifteen minutes of talking, I felt an itch in my throat and had a huge coughing fit. It felt like something was growing inside of me.

After three hours of just talking, Robin and I's coughs got to a concerning point and we took some medicine and drank tea.

The medicine and tea only helped a little bit, we kept coughing all night long.

All four of us fell asleep in the living room, waking up occasionally to get medicine or to cough.
