There was another Friday Night Dinner, but the only difference was that Richard wasn't there. Victoria was sure that Emily said where Richard was at some point, but she couldn't remember.

Lorelai asked, "So, where'd you say Dad was?"

"Away on business," Emily replied.

Lorelai asked, "Location's top secret?"

"Oh, Germany," Emily replied.

"Germany?" Lorelai asked, "Is Dad's firm insuring Nazis now?"

"Mom," Victoria scolded. "Germany isn't full of Nazis."

"I agree with Tori, your father doesn't know any Nazis," Emily said.

Lorelai started, "I know you two, I was just—"

"What?" interrupted Emily.

"Joking," Rory said. "She was joking."

"Oh, hard to tell," Emily replied.

"Yeah, well," Lorelai started.

"Oh, I'm afraid I have some bad news," Emily said. "Claudia died."

Lorelai was confused, "Who?"

"Claudia, your cousin, Claudia," Emily stated, repeating the name as if would jog Lorelai's memory. "Claudia!"

"I'm hearing the name, Mom," Lorelai said. "I have no idea who that is."

"Claudia's your cousin for all intents and purposes," Emily said.

"Oh, now we're getting to it," Lorelai said.

Victoria focused on her food. There was a bake sale going on at Chilton and she asked if Mrs. Chan can bring some dessert food for the bake sale and she agreed to help. Victoria wondered what Mrs. Chan was going to bring.

"Oh wait," Emily said. "Rudolf Gottfried."

Victoria was confused.

Lorelai asked, "Another cousin?"
