Third person's pov
All the while Jimin was speaking his heart out Ahana was looking at his expressions to detect any lie but when she found none, she couldn't help but acknowledge that the man in front of her is a responsible and kind person.
"Let's get married then." Ahana suddenly spoke.
Jimin froze hearing her for a second but immediately recovered and looked at her shocked. "W-what?"
"It's just that we are not a couple right? Let's give it a shot." She gave out a long sigh.
Jimin was confused, it looked like she was talking to herself.
After a few seconds, he spoke hesitantly,
"But even if you want to give it a shot, shouldn't we start by dating first?"
Ahana looked at him in disapproval and said, "I don't do dating Mr.Park, call me conservative or whatever and what do you think will happen if my family find out that I am pregnant before marriage? And even if they will be understanding-" which they certainly will not be, "-how do you think the media will react? I am not a nobody and nor are you? How do you think it will affect us? And the baby?""So you are scared of their reaction?"
Ahana mentally scoffed and mumbled, 'If I would have been scared then I wouldn't have been here sitting with you and suggesting a marriage proposal'
Jimin stared at her in curiosity when she didn't answer and to avoid this question Ahana just nodded her head in a yes.
Jimin looked at her in understanding but still marriage is a big step.
"Can I get some time to think it over?" He asked.
Ahana stayed silent for a second but then sighed and looked out of the window, "I am afraid I need your answer right now, Mr.Park."
Only she knew how much she will have to prepare depending on the answer.
Jimin stayed silent for a whole 10 minutes and finally spoke.
"Okay! Let's do it." He just decided to go with the flow.
"Let's do it tomorrow then. At 11 a.m. I will meet you in front of the registration office. Don't be late this time." She informed.
He looked at her speechless, "Tomorrow?! That soon? Did you have it all planned out even before the tests?"
She narrowed her eyes and asked, "Any problem?"
Jimin kind of got intimidated by her and cleared his throat to answer immediately, "Ofcourse not."
Obviously there is problem! It's happening too fast for me to keep up!
But just to make sure, he asked slowly,
"So you are not going to abort the baby, right?"
Ahana turned towards him and gave a small smile. "I was never planning to."
Jimin looked at her wide eyed and asked in a high pitched confused voice.
"What?!Then why did you-" but Ahana interrupted and explained.
"I was never going to get a abortion Mr.Park. I was just testing you. No matter how many reasons I have to abort this child, just one reason is enough to accept it and i.e. it's my child. It was just that if you would have denied from taking the responsibility, you would have lost your every right on this child."
Jimin was looking at her with his mouth slightly open. This woman is surely malicious..."Do you have any problem?" Ahana asked when he didn't speak for a while.
Jimin broke out of his trance and shook his head as a no.
Later they left the hospital and Ahana dropped Jimin at his house. When Jimin closed the car door, he thought of something and bent towards the window, "Uhm....Miss.Agarwal?"
Ahana turned towards him. "Would you like to have lunch? It's almost lunch time." Ahana looked a little surprised and she opened her mouth to say something but then closed it, then after sighing replied, "I am sorry Mr.Park but I have somewhere to be right now." A look of disappointment and embarrassment washed over Jimin's face but he just nodded and stepped back from the car while the car sped off.Next day:
Today Jimin was 30 minutes early. It was just 10:30 a.m. when he was already at the registration office. He didn't want to be late again today especially when it's his own wedding.
Whoa. That sounds so unfamiliar.
Ahana reached there by 9:45. When they were heading inside, Ahana simply said while walking, "I forgot to ask you one thing yesterday Mr.Park."
Jimin looked at her and asked, "What is it?"
"You don't have any girlfriend, right?"
Jimin stopped in his tracks hearing her. Ahana also stopped and turned back to look at him, he was trying hard to hide his smile. "Did I say something funny?" She raised one eyebrow in question.
"Are you kidding Miss.Agarwal? How could I agree to marry you if I already had a person in my life?" He replied while smiling.
"I am serious Mr.Park." she said.
Jimin sobered down and replied softly this time, "I don't."
Ahana nodded and continued walking, Jimin increased his pace a little and came beside her.
"But why ask it now? Isn't it obvious?"
"I just confirmed, so that there won't be any excuses left for you in the future to blame me."
"What do you mean?"
"Excuses to give if you ever cheat on me in the future."
"What the- I would never cheat on you!" Jimin exclaimed in disbelief and stopped at his place.
"I know but just letting you know, don't even try." Ahana replied as she also stopped and turned towards him.
"So, you really don't already have anyone in your heart?" She asked again while looking at anything but Jimin. Jimin smiled and replied confidently, "No, I don't have anyone else in my heart."
Else he said but she didn't notice.
"Not even a crush right?" She asked again.
He chuckled and replied, "Yeah. Not even a crush."
"What about you?" Jimin asked.
"What about me?"
"You had a fiance? Oh sorry my bad, you had a 'fiance-which-you-didn't-approve-of', what happened to him?"
Ahana raised a brow at his way of asking about Shaurya, "He is no one. I put a stop to whatever my mother was trying to do."
He nodded and then they went inside the office.
In no time their marriage certificates were in their hands. They were married.
I am a married man now.
I am a married woman now.
Both thought at the same time. Jimin was a little happy even though it was an urgent wedding while Ahana was anxious. She was thinking how she would break this news to her family and everyone.
Earlier when they were about to sign the documents, Ahana suddenly spoke to Jimin, "Mr.Park?"
"Hm?" Jimin replied while reading the documents, "Are you sure?" She asked for one last time. Jimin finally looked up at her to find her doubtful glance, he smiled and answered, "Although it's a little rushed, I don't seem to be against it." He said honestly. Ahana stared at him for a second and then said, "No, I meant, are you sure about marrying me?" Jimin looked at her a little confused and then said, "That's what I meant in the previous answer too."
Ahana just sighed and looked down at the papers, "I am not as simple as you think Mr.Park and my life is certainly not as simple as it looks." Saying this she just signed the last document. Jimin smiled and replied, "No one's life is simple, it just helps when you have company to go through it all, together."
