Talking quickly on the phone
He speaks a language I don't understand
I hear the concern in his voice
His days are not going as planned
He talks more on the phone
Calls a friend and the bank
It's been fifteen minutes since he started
While I listen quietly in the back
He sits on the chair with strong shoulders
I am serenaded by a strong, masculine voice
I long to touch him to offer some comfort
We were alone and he had no choice
But, carefully, I need to think
and hold my feelings sacred this time
He is here today, but not tomorrow,
I need to learn how to hold the line.
This trip had been a dream
and he was part of almost every scene
The phone call is over and done with
He is now preparing to leave
