Secret

The next morning started off quiet. That was nice. I went outside, still in my pajamas. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, the sunshine beaming right onto my face. I stood there for a moment until hearing Arny's door unlock, I quickly went back inside- no one is seeing me in my pajamas. I started towards my room and heard knocking. I stopped. Oh God, hopefully it's Ms. Greene, I prayed. I hesitated, but went back to the door and opened it. And it wasn't the apartment owner...
Danny stood before me, wearing a black t-shirt and some dark green plaid pajama pants. I quickly hid my body behind the door.
" Umm, can I help you? I'm not properly dressed, Danny, I- " " No, I realize that, I'm sorry. Pete and Arny are asleep still. I was wondering if I could use your shower?" I was shocked by the question actually. Quite odd.
" I, uh- yeah that's fine. I have towels you can use." I opened the door wider for him to step in. He went no further than the kitchen. I beckoned for him to follow me down the hallway. I showed him the towel cupboard, and showed him how to turn the water on and off. As soon as I heard the shower, I darted into my room and changed into more appropriate clothing. My Kuromi shirt, with a black lace under shirt- so I had sleeves- and a pink pleated skirt with some stockings. I put on my black platform boots and some chains. Realizing I hadn't brushed my hair or teeth, I did so, and I decided to decorate my face with complex makeup. I tried matching Kuromi, and I thought I did a pretty damn good job of doing so!

As I was walking out of my room, Danny stepped out of the bathroom... without a shirt. I gasped and looked to the floor.
" Didn't you bring extra clothes?" I asked, slightly panicking. I heard him chuckle, " Yea, I am wearing black jeans, and socks, and a belt, and my shoes are by the door. I can put my shirt back on I guess... guys go shirtless all the time, I didn't know it would be weird." He started to unfold his pajama shirt and put his arms through the sleeves.
" I mean, it's fine, I just didn't expect to see an attractive, half naked man in my home. Sorry! That came out weird-" I stopped myself from saying anything else embarassing. " I like your lightning tattoo." He looked down at it, and smiled. He took his shirt back off of his arms. " Thank you," he smiled. " I like your Kuromi makeup. Very creative."
" Oh, thanks. I kind of forgot I had it on already... What did Pete keep whispering to you about last night? I know you were talking about me. I don't appreciate talking behind my back, whether I know the person or not," I scolded. He softened his look. " Sorry, we weren't trying to do that. We were actually whispering about Arny being a simp for you." I raised an eyebrow... " What the hell is a simp?" He smiled and laughed- his perfect smile was just so beautiful.
" A simp is a term for someone who is silly, especially around the person they like." I thought about that for a second. " Wait, are you saying Arny likes me?" Holy shit, I'm so oblivious. I wouldn't mind at all, though. Shut up, Taelor!
" Ha! Yes he kept talking about the first time he saw you, and how you were caring and thoughtful enough to save Apollo. He thinks highly of you. And he thinks you're pretty. Pete and I agree, but we are definitely leaving you for Arny. We wouldn't dream of stealing our best friends love interest." He walked away and towards the door. I followed him, and he put on his shoes, gave me a quick " Thank you," and he walked out.
No way... Arny likes me!? As much of an introvert as I was, the thought of Arny specifically having an interest in me was... exciting! I guess that was their big secret they were constantly giggling about, stupid nerds.
I decided to put a dog harness on my rabbit, and I took her outside. She just hopped around on the pavement, sniffing everything. I took her to the grass, and she just started eating. " I'm going to need a name for you, aren't I?" I thought aloud.
" How about Trix? Like the cereal?" I quickly spun around, and Arny was there, hands in the pockets of his sweatpants. He was slightly hunched over, and his black locks of hair were messy from sleep.
" How long have you been standing there?" I asked. He smiled, reaching his hand behind his neck. " Just came outside and saw you. I'm not stalking you or anything. I don't know what Danny told you-"
" I like the name Trixx, but with 2 X's. Like the fox kwami from the Miraculous Ladybug show. Well, I guess you might not know it, but maybe you do since you watch cartoons," I teased. Anime was a cartoon, just Japanese. Miraculous was French, but a cartoon all the same.
" Yeah, I know the show. Danny enjoys it. So I basically named your rabbit, huh? Sorry, that should've been your privilege." I looked at him. " Stop apologizing. I wouldn't have named her something I didn't like. Besides, I added an extra letter. I did name her," I added. I heard him laugh behind me. " As for what Danny said, he might've mentioned that you fancy my company..." I didn't look at him as he came and stood directly at my side.
" Yes, I do. I know it's been 2 days since we even looked at eachother, but I like your personality. I defnitely think you're likeable. And you're very pretty, I like your makeup look today. It's very well done, and artistic. How long did it take you?" He asked. Oh my God, my Kuromi makeup! I look like a total clown!
" Oh, half hour or so? I'm suddenly self-concious of it now that you mention it..." I started to shield my face and he grabbed my hand.
" Don't be, I love any style of makeup or clothes or whatever. It's beautiful and unique." I smiled and looked into his twinkling eyes. His facial features were so sharp, he was a beautiful man, as white as a vampire. I love fair skin like his... I thought. Snow White is my favorite Disney princess. All because of her fair skin. It's just something I've loved since childhood.
" Well, since the secret is out, are you wanting to do anything about it? Spend more time together and get to know eachother more? Perhaps we can do movie night with your friends and play Cards Against Humanity. I have some extension packs...?" I offered. He nodded his head. " Yeah, that sounds great. Any dinner requests?" I didn't expect this question...
" How about... breakfast burritos? Do you have sausage, egg, and bacon?" Breakfast burritos are my favorite.
" Yeah I can make those. Or maybe Danny can, he is a good cook." He nodded. I smiled, " It's a date!" And I scooped up my 11lb rabbit, bringing her inside.
