Losing someone was something she had never experienced before then. She had been fortunate in that way, though she hadn't realized it, not it until it was too late. Her life had been so simple, so blessed, until...

She had no inkling of the hole that loss would open in her life, forever splitting it in two—the before and the after. And that chasm would become a raw wound that would never get better, never heal. Every part of him haunted her—his face, his voice, his laugh...

But what haunted her the most were those last moments with him. They replayed in her head, over and over and over, as they would for the rest of her life.

She had watched him leave, watched him wave back at her before he turned and went on his way. It had seemed so ordinary—a day like any other.

And then, in only a few moments, he would be gone.

At the time, she had no idea that she'd never see him again. But looking back on those last moments, she wished she could've done something, anything, differently. Called him back. Held him. Tell him she loved him. Refused to let him go. She wished she could reach back through time and pull him back from the brink she didn't even know was there.

But she couldn't do that.

There were other things she could do, though.

Because wouldn't you?

If you could bring them back to you...

What would you do?

What would you give?

Anything.

Anything
