Shade 20 - SILENT FIGHT

SILLICA 

"Ate?"

"Ate Ica?"

"Huy Ate!"

"Ate Ica!" I looked at Saturn, who was standing beside me with a creased forehead. I am busy analyzing things here. She can't see it.

"What" I whispered.

"Dalawang linggo na siyang ganyan." She points at Memo, who is seated on the floor while doing some paper work. "Mali pala, dalawang linggo na silang ganyan." And on cue, Ivan came out of the kitchen with a cup of coffee in her hand.

I thought she would stay in the living room like she usually does, but she headed straightly to her room, not even throwing a glance at Memo or us. I saw how Memo looks at Ivan as if wanting to say something, but she shakes her head and slaps her cheeks and goes back to what she is doing.

"Nabagok ba ulo nila ate?" I took Saturn to the kitchen so we could talk properly about what is happening to our two friends.

Flashback....

We are having our dinner and, surprisingly, Memo and Ivan are so quiet. They are sitting next to each other without even looking at each other.We just came home here and no one greeted us with a smile.

How dare they?

Ivan even ignored the boxes of cookies she bought for her.

"Kamusta po kayo dito Ate Memo?" My little sister asked them.

Memo looked at us and didn't answered immediately. "Okay lang naman." And smiled awkwardly.

"Ikaw Ate Ivan? Okay po bang kasama si Ate Me-" Saturn didn't finish her sentence when Ivan stood up with her plate.

"I am done eating, excuse me." And she left.

End of flashback...

I knew something was off when we came home. They were acting as if each other were strangers, and surprisingly, Memo was not doing anything about it. She smiles as if everything is okay.

You dummy!

"It's been two weeks, right?" I asked Saturn, who's eating bread here in the kitchen. When did she get those?

"Ulit-ulit Ate? Kasasabi ko lang kanina diba?" I really need to protect my sister from my friends, Fausti and Jill. She is picking up on their attitude, as well as my own.

"Go two steps behind. My patience is running thin right now because of the two and you're making me want to pinch your ears hard right now. " My sister looks threatened because she immediately steps back and covers her ears.

"Hindi na ako mamimilosopo." She even raises her left hand.

"It's the right hand dummy." I can't anymore. My sister is already infected by Fausti, Jill, and Memo. I can't save her anymore.

"Pero ate, do you have an idea what is happening between them?" I shake my head. Ivan spends most of the time in her room and will only go out when we are eating. She spends most of the time in our room as well. She left me the last time she asked me about something and I said Memo had it.
