Chapter 4: What is in the past?

Recap: Samarthya and Abhimanyu talk to Akshara and take her to dinner. Abhimanyu tells her a story and puts her to bed. He and Samarthya discuss her progress. They decide to slowly reveal the truth to her about her age. Abhimanyu informs Kairav and Neil about Akshara being there. 

Samarthya and Abhimanyu take her to the playground and subtly hint that she is different from the other children. Abhimanyu also takes her shopping and lets her realise that she is not five like she believes. She has a nervous breakdown. Abhimanyu cannot see her like this and Samarthya gives him strength.

It had been a week since Akshara faced the shock of realising her age is not what she believes. Things had slowly changed. For starters, there was now an unclear bond between Abhimanyu and Samarthya. It wasn't that the two declared friendship and acted like buddies but their mutual respect for one another and the common interest in Akshara's health bought them close. They regarded each other's opinions highly.

Talking about the reason for their affiliation, Akshara; she had a few confusing days. She was disoriented and didn't know how to behave in certain situations. Her mind was at constant war with the few memories it had and the past void. After that, it settled on teenage. Akshara never announced but her behaviour got more and more like a teenager. The men thought it an improvement even if it wasn't all the way.

She had no recollection of her own teen years but since she met many teenage patients every day and her unconscious had her own locked away in the pits of her mind- her behaviour got reformed. She grew more quiet than when she was acting as child. She'd crave company of people and yet maintain a distance. Abhimanyu and Samarthya's constant support was a bliss to her.

Another major change over the week was the arrival of Kairav and Anisha. Anisha had returned on the day of Abhimanyu's supposed engagement and stayed after that but she couldn't tolerate her mother anymore. She was leaving Udaipur when she crashed into Kairav who was running at the airport's entrance. They recalled who the other was as they had met at the same function. When Kairav informed her about her plan to meet Akshara, Anisha tagged along knowing her brother was there and might need support.

The two were totally unaware how much support was exactly needed. Akshara's state left them speechless. They had reached the day when Akshara was disoriented so Abhimanyu did not let them meet her and Samarthya supported that decision. Now, after a week, Kairav pestered them to let them meet. Abhimanyu and Samarthya looked at each other and nodded. Since it was Samarthya's establishment, he had appointments to handle so Abhimanyu took Kairav to meet Akshara. They asked Anisha to stay behind as they thought it would be better to introduce people one by one.

Abhimanyu: Hi!

Abhimanyu said as he entered the room. Akshara looked up and took off the earphone. She was about to stand up and greet him when she noticed Kairav and sunk in her seat.

Abhimanyu: Koi tumse milne aya hai..

Akshara: Mujhse?

Abhimanyu: haan!

Kairav entered fully and smiled. Akshara looked at him with wide eyes. She felt an urge to welcome the man with a hug which confused her. She concentrated at Abhimanyu to subdue her inner confusion.

Abhimanyu: He is your brother Akshu..

Akshara: My brother?

Kairav nodded.

Akshara: How is it that I never saw you...

Kairav's eyes became moist.

Abhimanyu: Vo he was away due to work but he had realised his sister is important too and came back to make up for the lost time-...haina?
