Lily's POV-

This was it the moment that I've been waiting for all year I rushed into the passenger seat of the car Steven driving while my Mom sat in the back with Belly I was so excited I could hardly contain it I was practically jumping out of my seat

"Alright is everyone ready?" mom asked before giving the cue to leave our drive way "Yeahhhhhh" we all said in unison already ready to start the long drive to Cousins

"Alrighttt looks like we're good to go you can start driving Steven" our mom said sounding almost as excited as we were, once we had left our driveway and headed out for about twenty minutes I decided to turn on the radio, as soon as I did "Late night talking" by Harry Styles one of my many favorite songs started to play as I started to sing the lyrics

"If your feeling down I just want to make you happier baby" I sung as belly joined me starting this trip to a good start "We've been doing all this late night talking" we both sang while swaying with the music while driving down the road "Now your in my lifeeee I can't get you off my minddddd" as I started to sing the lyrics I couldn't help but think about Conrad and how my feelings for him despite my wanting have grown stronger and stronger as time went by

Towards the end of the song Steven reached over and turned down the song "You are gonna make me crash with that horrible screeching sound you guys are making right now" he stated while I hit him laughing at his remark this summer was gonna be good I could already tell

Time Jump

Finally after sitting in the car for what seemed like hours and hours on end we were only a couple miles away but before we made it to the house we made a quick pit stop to a gas station nearby while Steven filled the gas tank me and belly both entered the store "HEY!" he shouted from the car "You better get me Sour patch kids!" He exclaimed to us while we were entering the store

while we were inside I got a water bottle and an unnecessary bag full of jolly ranchers and I quickly got Stevens Sour patch kids

While I was walking towards the Cash register I looked up and saw Belly talking with the guy that was working there
"So are you gonna come to the Bonfire later on tonight?" He asked her obviously at an attempt of flirting but before she could answer I stepped in next to her "I don't know bells maybe we will drop by" I told him as I winked and grabbed are already purchased items and left to go to the car

"Soooo are we gonna go?" She said hopefully "I don't know bells maybe we'll talk about it later alright?" I told her
"Ok" she said satisfied with my answer soon our mom came back from the restroom and Steven had entered the car again "Alright let's go!" Steven said while starting the car up and driving off

We were only five minutes away when I got a text from my phone

I couldn't help but smile at his response as butterflies swarmed my stomach making me blush a slight shade of pink luckily no one noticed I started to remember the familiar beaches and the smell of the salty air that had always brought back so many memories some good and some bad but always mostly good all of our excitements grew as we entered the circular driveway parking the car as all of us instantly flew out of the car straight to the porch where we could se Jeremiah and Susannah already running up to us to give us all hug the first to hug me was Jeremiah who grew quite a bit since I had last seen him

"Holy shit I can't believe your here!!" He told me while hugging me tightly and spinning me in the air " you've changed quite a bit I see" he said he wasn't wrong though I defiantly had a glow up this summer I now had an actual sense of style and I kept my hair down instead of having it in a ponytail all the time "Ohhhh let go of the Lily would you so I can give her a huggg" Susannah's sweet voice filled my ears as my happiness grew by the second

Jere lightly put me down on my feet and I embraced Susannah with a very tight but comforting hug "Oh my sweet sweet girl you look so beautiful I've missed you so much!!!" she said almost crushing me with her strength

Then the moment I had been waiting for all year was when I could see Conrad again he had come out from the back his head bobbing as he walked looking down then our eyes met and it was like fireworks were going off he looked the same but different in a way he still had his devilishly handsome face with his crooked smile and blue greenish eyes that seemed to glare into my soul as soon a we saw each other his mood immediately changed and we both ran to each other awaiting this moment for so long

When we finally reached each other we pulled each other into a bone crushing hug almost knocking each other off balance by the force of the hug "Fuck Lils you don't know how much I've missed you" he whispered so only I could here while his head was nestled in my neck making my stomach do summersaults at the nickname that he had given me "Connieeeeeeee I missed you toooo" I told him while pulling him in even more if that was even possible my nose filled with his scent that I had missed so much he was my best friend and I told him absolutely everything and he was always there for me and we both knew we had a deeper connection with each other more than anyone else in the group although it's was nice I couldn't help wonder to myself how things would be different if he loved me the way I loved him
