Conrad's POV-

As I walked towards the front Porch hearing all the commotion that was going on I had figured that the moment that I had been waiting for was here Lily and her family were finally here at the house
I walked up the path my head clouded with thoughts about what I was gonna say to Lily when I saw her but before I could finish my thinking I saw her she looked different but she still was just as beautiful as ever I forgot how beautiful she really was of course we FaceTimed almost everyday but seeing her in person was completely different her green eyes staring into my soul with the kindest look put on her face so gentle and precious as always almost as if her face was made out of porcelain that could break at any moment but the way I loved her was different than any love that I could possibly feel for someone if only she felt the same

I quickly ran to her with a big smile on my face she ran towards me as well and when we finally embraced each other it felt as though time stopped and all my problems were gone "Fuck Lils you don't know how much I've missed you" I told her nuzzling my head into her neck engulfing myself with her sweet scent I loved her with all my heart but she was my best friend and I knew she did not feel the same although I never knew for sure I was always too scared to ask her afraid of being rejected and ruining our bond

As I let her go not wanting this moment to end I saw up close those beautiful eyes of hers I longed to tell her all my problems but I knew that I couldn't do that to her not with what I knew

It was late this April that I had found out that my mom had gotten cancer again this time worse and she might not get better even the thought made me want to burst out into tears but I couldn't burden that on her too I loved her too much for that but it was hard to think about that when she was around she had always made everything better even more so now

We were interrupted by Steven speaking up saying "Hey guys" he said smirking " I don't know about you but I think it time for a" he paused before Jeremiah joined him shouting "BELLY FLOP" they shouted as belly made a run for it but they were far too fast for her I ran towards them lifting her legs and moving towards the pool

They did this every year to start off the summer and this summer would be no exception as we threw her in she screamed before merging into the blue water then Jeremiah went "Hey guys I don't know about you but I think it's time to have a change of scenery here" he laughed as I knew exactly what was about to happen

"What do you mean" Lily asked before I ran up to her grabbing her before he could figure it out
"Wait whattttt?!" She squealed "No No No put me down Connie!" So I did what she asked and flung her into the pool I laughed so hard I almost wet myself it felt so good to be around all of them again when she emerged to the surface she was soaked but started to whimper

A million thoughts went through my head I was so worried it was Just meant to be a joke I never wanted to hurt her in the process "owwwww Connie please help me I think I twisted my ankle" oh god what have I done I hope she was ok

Withought hesitation I went by the pool sticking out my hand for her to grab but instead of helping her up she pulled me hard into the pool water

As my body submerged the water I realized how surprisingly cold it was when I resurfaced I could see her practically wheezing god how good it felt to hear her laugh again I splashed water in her direction "Ha ha very funny" I told her sarcastically if only I could stay in this moment forever with her by my side then maybe everything would be alright
