Lily's POV-
After dinner I decided to go for a night swim before I left to the bonfire that was going on later on tonight k of course was invited with the boys but Belly wasn't and I decided that I would obviously have to sneak her in somehow because truth be told she really was growing up and it was time she had experienced her first bonfire
I wore a floral bathing suit and grabbed a towel and headed towards the door but something stopped me in my tracks
I was just about to set everything down when I saw a familiar boy sitting by the edge of the pool with his feet in the water smoking what smelled like weed

This was a strange sight to see but the lightning made him look amazing and I couldn't help but stare at him before I snapped out of it I quickly spoke

"I thought you said smoking pot was bad for you" I told him this quickly then dove into the pool and when I emerged I told him "Didn't you say that pot messes with white matter" he stared into my eyes before saying "Do you even know what white matter is" his expression was emotionless and cold I swam closer to him "You said that real athletes don't put that shit into there body's" he stared at me "yeah I said a lot of things besides I'm not an athlete anymore remember" his voice was cold as ice I could tell that something was wrong I got up and sat by him at the edge of the pool "Let me hit then" I asked calmly

"What?" he was so confused it was a little funny but he slowly gave it to me and I took a long drag of it "So I see you've done this before" he smirked just a little but still his eyes were like ice against mine what he didn't know was that not only did my depression and anxiety grow worse after my dad leaving us but I had also started getting high and turned that into a coping mechanism

"Connie I know something is wrong can you please tell me what it is" I pleaded with him he looked at me almost guilty like he wanted to tell me something but he just couldn't get it out

Conrad's POV-

"Connie I know something is wrong can you please tell me what it is" she looked so worried that it had hurt me not to tell her I wanted to so bad but I just couldn't I knew if I did that I would just burden her with the weight of knowing that the person who basically raised us is gonna die

"Connie we used to tell each other everything why are you being so cold all of a sudden" I wanted to tell her I really did but I just couldn't she wasn't wrong about me being cold though I was being mean to her earlier "Lils I'm sorry I didn't mean to be so mean to you I know your just looking our for me" I looked at her eyes and they softened to my apology almost relieved "Look I'm really sorry I want to tell you so bad but I can't "Why can't you please just tell me whatever it is and I'll help you through it we can do this together" with that I finally looked in her eyes for comfort and began saying "Lils something horrible happe—-" then all of a sudden Steven came outside

"Hey you guys ready to go?" Damnit why did he have to ruin that for me I shot him a glare I did know that she was gonna want to know later on by the expression of her face I knew she wanted to know what had happened she got up and said "Hold up let me just get dressed I'll be back" and with that she was gone

"Fine but you need to hurry up or we'll leave you" he shouted "Yeah yeah whatever" she yelled before entering the house vanishing from my sight

Lily's POV-

I ran up the stairs so many question in my mind but I knew that right now I just needed to get Belly in here so I could ask what to wear and so I could help her know how to escape later on

"Bells come on it's time to partyyyy" I whispered as I ran to my room with her following "Yesss so we are going?" She asked "Yup now the boys and I are leaving right now so after we leave I will leave a crack in the door and just say you want to go to sleep early cause your tired or something" she nodded listening to me "Then you can get ready and get Taylor's help or something alright?" I told her the whole plan hopefully she didn't get caught "yeah ok and I'll text you once I get there" she added "Great alright now help me with an outfit"
