Prologue

Kali is a 17 year old girl with dreams to leave Hawkins as soon as she finishes high school. She doesn't care where she goes, all she knows is that she wants to get away from her father as soon as possible.

She has lived in Hawkins her entire life but after what happened when she was 13 years old, she shut herself away and used smoking and drinking as a way to escape. After the rumours started and the awful names she found comfort in her best friend Steve Harrington who helped her heal and come to terms with what happened.
After her grandfather died she felt alone, the only thing she had left to remember him by was the black '67 Chevy impala that they spent a lot of her childhood fixing up and she was happy that he left it to her in his will.

She would find herself driving around town a lot as she never wanted to go home but that all changed when she met Billy Hargrove, the loveable bad boy that had just moved to town. She had finally found someone that understood the pain she was going through and although she was reluctant at first, she soon found herself falling head over heels for him.
