The Summer of '78 was supposed to be the same as every other. Instead, Juniper Blair finds herself in a situation no one would ever want to be in. Sympathy was a thing Juniper hated the most. In the Denver suburb, people all pretended to be normal. Behind all the happy faces, perfect families with children who had the best grades, lied bullies. The insecure hated on the insecure. The higher grades bullied the younger grades.
Juniper was a victim of the bullying. So was her brother. Ghost siblings. Not a lot of people knew of them. Their parents always working, day & night, just to provide for the children. Griffin and & Juniper, not fully blood siblings, treated each other likewise.
Their bond was impeccable. The best of friends. Griffin and Juniper were in the same grade, only two classes together. Both seventh graders, before he went missing.
Juniper would have never believed it, if she never experienced it herself. A blast from the past is all it takes to end her black out days.
