Chapter Eight

A-bby's POV
The aliens and I were all in our cheer uniforms, waiting until we need to go on when Bucky, Addison's cousin, came up to us.

"Oh, yes. She is beautiful. Too bad you'll be way to nervous to win her when the pressure is on!" Bucky told us

"I look forward to being nervous." A-spen said, causing Bucky to make a face.

"Eat my stardust, Seabrook." A-lan trash talked before smiling. "Oh, did I correctly talk trash?" He asked, receiving a nod.

"I do hope you experience a joyful time cheering against us." I told Bucky before we walked away

"It's been an exciting evening here at the National Cheer Off. We discovered alien life this week, but the big question in the universe is who will win the Seabrook Cheer Cup?" The announcers said over the intercom.

We were watching the Eastside Eels do their routine and waiting until we were up, when Zed stopped us.

"Stop! Do not go out there!"

"But we need to win the cheer cup! Our future depends on it." A-li told him

"And winning tastes so good, Zed."

"Z-patrol is looking for you. They are not gonna let you complete."

"But without our map, we'll forever wander the galaxy without a home." I told him

"Well, you better hope Addison sticks her landing and wins it for ya. Let's go!" Zed said as we all followed

The Mighty Shrimp won and the Seabrook Cup was now in Addison's possession when Willa walked up on stage.

"The aliens are liars. They've come to take what's ours! We should have never let Addison welcome in those outsiders." She told the crowd

Zed walked up to her, us behind him.

"Step back, Zed." Willa growled

"So much passion." A-spen said

"Uh...she wants to rip your heart out." Zed told them

"She can have it."

"Give me it Addison! You won it, it's mine!" Bucky said, trying to take the trophy out of her hands.

Addison shoved Bucky away and ran towards us.

"She's stealing the Seabrook Cup!"

"Go, go, go, go!" Zed yelled as we ran outside.

When we made it outside Z-patrol was waiting for us.

"Freeze! Stay where you are!"

"Beam us up, Mothership!" I yelled

"Wolves, attack!"

"Use our moonstones!"

"No!"

The wolves used their moonstones to stop Mothership from beaming us up. A-lan pulled me into his chest for safety as we all crouched down to protect ourselves.

"Something's wrong. Critical systems failure." Mothership told us

Everyone was shouting, telling us to go away, but Zed zombied out, and so did his little sister.

"Enough!"

Zed stopped, and looked back at his little sister. Seeing her zombied out, he quickly went back to normal and ran to her.

"You zombied out! You good?"

"Yeah! I don't know what you're up to, big brother, but I got your back."

"Yes! Enough! This is your fault too, Addison. You let these aliens in, and they lied to us. They betrayed us. You betrayed us!" Willa blamed. "So you're either with us or—"

"With them? But I am them, Willa. I may be from Seabrook, but my grandma wasn't. I am...an alien!" Addison said as she transformed into her alien self.

"Addison is one of us!" A-spen cheered

"And she's amazing!"

"Mom, Grandma Angie was an alien." Addison told her mom

"But that's impossible. Missy tell her that it's impossible."

"Dale, I'm so sorry." Missy said to her husband before turning to Addison. "I know, sweetie. I've always known."

"You lied to me?"

"My parents thought that hiding was the best way to protect me. And you. Grandma always called you her most precious thing." Missy said

"What. She said I was her what?"

A-sown was scanning the trophy while Addison and her mom talked. Their Luma Lens turned red, indicating that the coordinates weren't there.

"No. No, no. The coordinates are not there. This is not the map."

"That's because the map isn't a what. It's a who." Addison told us

A-spen looked at Addison before scanning her hand. It turned green and we all smiled happily.

"Addison is our map." A-lan said

"The coordinates are in her DNA."

"Instromomo." A-lan and I said in unison

"You're the Scout's—your grandmother's most precious thing!"

"Yes! We found the map!" Zed cheered, hugging Addison, but got electrocuted.

"Sorry!"

"Okay! Let's figure that out later. But this is great. Now, you guys can record your coordinates and head back home. And Addison and J are headed into Mountain College together! I got in." Zed said

"That's great, Zed!

A-lan and I shared a glance before I spoke up.

"But the map to Utopia is dynamic. Constantly computing new units to guide our spaceship. It's not just some numbers." I told them

"And since Addison is our map...she needs to come with us." A-lan finished

"What?"

"No. No! You cannot take Addison." Zed refused

"These are my people, Zed. They need me to survive. When the aliens leave, I'm going with them." Addison told him

I couldn't help, but feel sad for everyone who knew Addison, and loved her. She was making a selfless decision for us. Before we leave, we need to fix Mothership and get her running again, so I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings.
