The Chase For The Key Part 2

The smashing along the walls could be heard, I could sense the anger and frustration from the thing that was now awake, my breathing became heavy once again and I felt a chill go down my spine, without thinking I ran, climbing up the ledges as fast my legs could carry me. I quickly turned my head to see where he was but I could see nothing nor hear anything, my feet slowed down and finally I stopped to catch my breath, my hair was wet from the sweat and my legs became weak from the running. I looked around for a second time but again I couldn't see the creature but I could see the key that was hanging in the ice, it was above me all I needed to do was to go up one more ledge and reach for the key. I got my strength back and gripped on the snowy cold ledge and lifted my body up I looked up and saw the key shimmering in the icicle even the blood on the walls seemed to shimmer which was very strange especially that it looked fresh but I shook my head and grabbed the icicle off the ceiling, from the intense icy pain that went straight through my fingers I dropped the ice that smashed to the floor with the key now on the snowy ledge I picked it up and put it in my back pocket to keep it safe.I was now at the bottom of the cave ready to retreat back to Jasmine and Lindsey until that shattering roar was heard I looked behind me and saw the thing coming at me suddenly, I ran back in the safety of the dark room where Jasmine and Lindsey were safely hidden, well I thought so until the thing followed "Run" I shouted to the ladies that was sitting on the floor, I didn't have to repeat myself twice as they could hear the roars and screams of the thing. I could feel how close he was and how terrified I felt. Jasmine and Lindsey was again in front of me obviously this was becoming an occurring thing of me becoming close to death. We were approaching a tight passage when all three of us squeezed in as fast as we could, thinking we were finally safe it was blocked by a fallen wall. A positive part of us being here was it couldn't reach us but it didn't stop the beast from trying, as his huge arm was still attacking the girls. It was huge like a grizzly bear but covered in white blood stained fur, it was on all fours with huge teeth, its claws as sharp as knives being too close to the girls sensitive bodies. It reminded me of a polar bear but more disturbed then cute. Jasmine finally got her gun out and shot at it a few times with her shotgun but it didn't seem to do any damage at all, it was just pouncing off like it had an invisible armour. Its screams of pain were distressing, it echoed through the caves, bouncing of the walls causing pain to shoot through my ears. "You got a knife" I quickly asked while still dodging the massive hand thrusting towards us, Jasmine didn't respond she just grabbed the knife out of her bag and gave it to me. I stuck the knife in the things hand which was when blood started to squirt out, I did this repeatedly. It seemed to work because it screamed in intense pain and retreated back.

It was now staring through the small narrow hole seeing the prey that was fighting back, which was its mistake as I stuck the knife in its pure black eye, blood spurted out like a fountain but the most disturbing part was the creature's scream in agony, it was loud and screeched throughout the cave, it knew it lost as it ran towards its cave. "You two okay" I asked looking at both women, they were now slumped on the floor, Jasmine's arm was around Lindsey who was breathing heavy and crying in shock "We're okay did you get the key?" she looked up with those blue eyes obviously terrified but keeping herself calm for Lindsey "I have." I answered as I reached in the back pocket and showed her the silver key with the number four printed on to it. She smiled and stood up still holding Lindsey. "Where do we go now then?" Lindsey quietly asked still tears fallen down her face, her eyes becoming a glassy glow, she was shaking in terror, I now realized how young she actually was "Well while you were asleep and Alex was retrieving the key I had a look around and saw a door it was the same one from the cave" Jasmine announced as she removed her arm from Lindsey. "Well lets go then oh and keep your gun out" I told her. We was now outside the small narrow wall and into the passage still keeping our eyes open for the beast, we walked towards the door which wasn't too far thankfully. The door was huge and made from stone it gleamed from the snow, I pulled the bronze handle which led back to the dark streets and back to where Sampson was. I understood why Sampson gave us the coats but what I didn't understand is where the beast went when it was after me and why it suddenly appeared again? I was so confused, and what confused me more is that it didn't seem to be after me much it was mainly the girls. What the fuck was going on? and what's it got to do with me? I was asking myself constantly.
