Here comes the dawn in Gotham City. A new day is dawning.

A bright shining dawn over stately Wayne Manor.

But in the secret Batcave, no birds sing.

Batman was trying to contact Robin through his voice communicator.

"Robin, repeat. Your homing transmitter. Turn it on, boy" he said.

"Batman, he can't. He's unconscious" said Sam.

"Unconscious?" said Batman.

"Yeah. Sam and I saw the Riddler shoot him in the arm with a dart and knock him unconscious" said Charles Wallace.

"You saw it? Where did you see the Riddler take him?" said Batman.

"We saw him take him down a manhole" said Sam.

"And did you see where that manhole led to?" said Batman.

"No, we didn't have time; we needed to find you and Calvin" said Charles Wallace.

"That reminds me. What happened to Batman in that discotheque?" said Sam to Calvin.

"He drank orange juice that the Riddler so obviously spiked" said Calvin.

Just then, the phone rang. Batman answered it.

"Yes?" he said.

"It's Mrs Cooper, sir. She's noticed your beds weren't slept in. She's having a fit" said Alfred.

"Tell her that Dick and I are spending the night at my uncle's house. That should put her at ease" said Batman.

"Very good, sir" said Alfred.

Batman hung up the phone and hung his head.

"Batman, we're extremely sorry we couldn't help" said Sam.

"Sam... you helped just fine. You saw it happen and you know what condition Robin is in and that he's underground. The only question is exactly where he is" said Batman.
