Revenge Is Sweet

Val POV

Marshall left the hotel just as the sun came up, leaving me to slumber by my lonesome for an additional hour or two. My daughters and I met Hailie and Evan for breakfast before we parted ways as well. They were going sightseeing in the city while my daughters and I checked out The Lego Store along with The American Doll Store. It was so wonderful being with a man who plans special things for his family even if he couldn't be there to enjoy it with us.

We had to travel with two security guards as we sped off in a black SUV complete with car seats for the girls. The vehicle had just pulled up to the Lego Store when my phone rang. I thought it would be Marshall but was taken by surprise when my brother's number displayed on the screen. I had almost forgotten about running into him the other night.

"Hi, how ya doin?" I answered then held the phone between my ear and my shoulder to get my daughters out of the car.

"Hey Valentina, I was wondering if you would like to do lunch later?" He cut right to the chase. "I thought it might be nice to catch up."

"Oh, I'm not available today. The girls and I are about to go into the Lego Store." I told him as we walked through the doors and my daughters shrieked. It was awesome that we had the place all to ourselves.

"Oh." He seemed stunned that I had something better to do. "Well how bout when you finish up there then?"

"That's not going to work out, we have plans right after this too."

"Oh ok."

"We're going to the American Doll Store and we're on a tight schedule because um...my boyfriend, well my fiancé, he rented out the entire store just for us. We only have it for a two-hour slot, it would be rude to cancel. He went to so much trouble for us."

The girls were bounding around the store in a state of excitement at this point.

"Your fiancé?" There was an awkward silence before he continued, "Well Jack and I would like to have you over for dinner before you leave New York. How about this Friday night?"

"I think this Friday we have this dinner thing that I'm supposed to go to. It's to celebrate the album dropping and everything. A lot of important people will be there. I had to get a special customized dress made because my belly is popping out now."

"So, it is Eminem!"

"Marshall. Yes." I answered awkwardly.

"And that's his baby?!"

"Of course!" The girls were now becoming impatient, and I wanted to share in their joy, "I'm sorry Dante', I'll call you later tonight. I'm busy right now."

I hung up to take Bella and Cassandra's hands in my own to begin our amazing mommy/daughter day together.

After a memorable day with my daughters and gobs of bags of Legos and dolls, we climbed back in the SUV to return to the hotel. I had been sending Marshall pictures all day of the day's special little moments but hadn't heard a word in return. I knew this was an extremely busy time for him. I finally received a text from Marshall as we were swerving through New York traffic telling me to take the elevator to the rooftop when we got back to the hotel.

When we got there... There was food!

And people...

50 Cent and Royce were there. Paul and Alison as well as Hailie and Evan were sitting together. I recognized the one guy as Method Man, and then there were some who I didn't know. I always felt intimidated when I was around the other guy's wives and girlfriends. I couldn't help but feel judged and the fact that I was now showing didn't help.

The luxurious balcony reminded me of when we stayed in Florida except skyscrapers surrounded us instead of ocean. Horns honked in the distance below us in place of waves crashing.

"Why didn't you tell me you were having a party? I would have changed or something."

"This is Fifty's thing. Don't worry," Marshall smacked his lips against mine, "You look beautiful. Here girls, Ima just get you a little to eat and then it's soon time for bed. Have a seat sweetheart, I got them."

Marshall took the girls over to the buffet table and I watched adoringly. The beautiful sight of Marshall with my daughters like that brought tears to my eyes. I knew I was doing the right thing in marrying him.

"Yo, look at chu all expecting."

I looked over to see Fifty and leaned in for him to kiss my cheek, "Hey Fifty, nice to see you again."

"I can't believe you guys are having another kid."

Marshall POV

It was cool to have some chill time after such a hectic week. When Fifty said he was having some people over right there at the hotel we were staying at, I texted Val and told her to come up to the rooftop when they got back. It was a kind of congratulatory celebration for my new album coming out. It was his way of showing me love.

"I texted her, she's on her way." I put my phone down.

"Is she showing yet?" Fifty asked me as he handed me a Red Bull.

Paul cut in, "She's showing, it's all in the front. That's why I told Marshall it's gonna be a boy this time."

"As long as it's healthy man, I don't give a fuck if it's a boy or a girl."

"You're a family man now Marshall." Fifty laughed.

"I've always loved kids. And Val's the one dawg. This next chapter is going to be fucking dope."

I looked up as Bella and Cassaundra came running in with shopping bags with Valentina waddling behind them. She looked so cute. I told Val not to worry about a thing and take a seat while I took care of the girls. I helped them fill their plates with food and looked up to see Fifty sitting with my woman. I quickly grabbed some mozzarella sticks and made an Italian sausage sandwich for Val. She loves that shit.

I knew Fifty was my boy and he'd never hit on my fiancé, but I don't like leaving Val alone with any man. She might get panicky.

"I can't believe you guys are having another kid."

I came up behind them and cut in their conversation, "We find out if it's a boy or a girl next week when we're back home in the D. Here you go baby." I handed Val her food.

"You're gonna be famous soon Val." Fifty laughed again. "Having Slim Shady's kid."

"She already is. Some Stans knew who she was at the video shoot the other night."

"Oh shoot!" Val set her fork down and wiped her mouth, "I was supposed to call my brother back."

"Finish your food baby, we're having a good time tonight. He can wait."
