A New Guy

A/N: Hey guys! Before we get into this chapter, I just want to acknowledge and give credit to the writers of Big Time Rush. Obviously, in all of my previous chapters, I'm following along with their plot lines; however, in this one and some to follow, while I'm following their plot line, I'm changing it around some. For example, Jo is not a character in this story as of now, so you will see how I change the plot slightly for this chapter. Also, the song in this chapter is Sam Hunt's Take Your Time. Maya was currently enjoying hanging out with the boys by the Palm Woods pool. However, suddenly, the boys stood up and put sunglasses on in synch.

"What time is it?" Kendall asked.

"It's girl time," the boys answered.

Maya turned her head to see the Jennifers about to walk by the boys and rolled her eyes. Of course, Maya didn't care that the boys were trying to flirt, but she did care that it was with the Jennifers because she knew they would just hurt her boys. But all Maya could do was sit back and watch as the Jennifers didn't even let the boys talk to them.

Now, one might be asking why Kendall is even flirting with another girl, let alone right in front of his crush, Maya, but Kendall had recently come to the decision that it would be best to try and move past his crush since she was his boss's daughter. Was that working? No, not at all. Every time he looked at her, his heart felt like it was about to burst from his chest.

Kendall's thoughts were interrupted by Camille slapping him across the face, "How could you? With my mom in the hospital, and my huge fight with my best friend, and my zit?"

"Break a leg at your Degrassi audition, Camille!" Maya called to her from her lounge chair that she was still lying in.

"Thank you!" Camille answered as she walked off, but not before slapping Kendall one more time. All Maya could do was chuckle to herself.

"Simms Twins," Carlos announced.

"Too risky," James warned him, "They get pretty upset if you get their names wrong."

But Carlos put on his helmet and stepped into their path, "Hello, ladies."

"What's my name?" one of the twins asked him, even Maya didn't know who was who.

"Uh, Mandy?"

Wrong answer. The twins pushed Carlos into the pool.

"Sandy," the other boys stated before sitting back down on their chairs causing Maya to sit up in her seat.

"Maya, what kind of guy did you say that you were attracted to again?" Logan asked, trying to get her to admit that she liked Kendall since she had previously mentioned that her type was basically Kendall.

"I like guys who are nice and sweet," Maya started, "Somebody not crazy or stuck-up that's still really hot from like North Carolina or something," she chuckled.

"Well, it's not North Carolina," Bitters announced as he walked a boy and his mom through the pool, "but I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here. Let me show you your apartment."

Maya watched as Bitters and the mother walked away, giving her a clear view of the new boy. He had jet black hair, dark eyes, and tan skin, and he was attractive. The boys turned to face Maya to find her staring at him, mouth open.

The boy turned to face the group and smiled at Maya. Maya stood up, causing Kendall to stand too which led to James and Logan standing also. The boy began to walk past, and Maya figured it would be weird if she didn't say anything.
