"All your money. Now," he demanded, pressing a gun to Kaleb's head. I stood stock still, shocked. "Your money!" he reiterated, this time more forcefully.

"I - I don't have any money," I stuttered.

"Liar. Give me your money!" he exclaimed. Kaleb looked at me with a glint in his eyes. I shook my head, telling him to stay put. Unfortunately the man didn't realize I was telling Kaleb no. He thought I was shaking my head at him. "Are you telling me no?" he demanded, then before I could respond continued, "That's a big mistake. You have one last chance. Give me your money."

"But I -" I started, but before I could, a gun went off. The man's head lolled, dead instantly, but... his finger slipped, pressing on the trigger. I lunged for Kaleb, but I was too late. Instead I caught his body as it fell, watched as the life instantly drained out of his eyes and they stared like empty orbs up at the sky beyond the ally's walls. Finally I looked up at the police officer who had fired the first shot. He stood, unmoving, staring at my brother. I realized that my clothes were soaked in his blood. I dropped my head onto his chest. My little brother was dead. If I had only moved faster, I might have been able to save him... My chest heaved in sobs as I came to the conclusion:

I couldn't let this happen again. I would save them all... even if I died doing it.

Tragic! But aren't all the superheroes'? A little backstory on Moon Dragon! Hope you enjoyed and see you in the margins!
