Lucy looks at me
"You should audition"
"Yeah," says Joe, "even right now your rap and vocal were lowkey slayyyyyyyyyyying"
I cannot do this. "No, I can't- Umma would never, I- I, I can't do this" I stammer

Two days later

I'm walking arm-in-arm with Lucy and Joe towards the building; THE building where 'The Apprentice' takes place, where me and Joe and Lucy watch people get fired for stupid reason while throwing shade at them.

THIS IS REAL.

I want to run away when I see the line, a few THOUSAND people are lining outside the doors of the building, where three harassed-looking, burly security guards are trying to keep the line orderly. Half of the line is probably Korean, or Japanese decent but I see people of every age, race and gender. I didn't know this many KOREANS lived in London, let alone KOREAN & K-POP STANS.

I would be excited but I'm scared of huge crowds and I'm skipping Spanish tutoring (Our school legit CAN'T teach Spanish competently) When we get into line, we have to wait a whole HOUR before we're inside. When we get to the front office, there's a grumpy old lady who looks like she'll do anything else but this. She gives me a sheet which I have to fill in:

After I fill it in I hand it over to the old lady and she gives me a number: 8271. This makes me feel a bit happier, since it's my moms birthday: the 27th of August of 1971.

I take a deep breath and step through the doors.
