《Lamb (Original)》

Have I ever told you how lovely your tired eyes were

When they carried tormented purple

Or how breathtakingly perfect, your soft skin

The scars where red pimples had once been

All of which you despised

If only I could silence your thoughts which lied

To you, why can't you just see

All I desire is who you are and who you will be

I never demanded of you to accept

But these words are all I have left

Your touch, to feel- I am unable to speak

Drowned by your voice, I cannot dare peek;

Afraid of your agonizing gaze I am

Hence, you partake in the sacrifice of a lamb

Out of this tortured body, none is able to exorcise you

Only if the Most Merciful demands it not to hold true

So don't break free from my throat by force

And then leave me here with no remorse

Over my dead body you sadistically gaze

You still choose this despite the many ways

You could leave, yet you only desire me to grieve

This was the original version of the 1st poem in the book, they have different narratives. I wrote the other one later for a uni class.

Which version do you think is better?
