Memories of Friendship

Five years have gone by,
A continuous cycle of morning and nigh',
Nothing is left to say, he said with a sigh,
We all fell apart, no one really tried.

We used to be the best of friends,
Alas each of us had to catch different trains,
Memories remain of those sultry days,
Memories remain and in my head like a tape it plays.

Even after twenty years pass by,
Some of us maybe too busy to try,
Too busy to think of those fond memories,
Too busy with kids and their bed time stories.

I remember us as the best of friends,
In the future all of us will be setting different trends,
But at some point the memories will flow again,
Through your eyes it will fall like rain.

And when with old age oblivion sets in,
You will contemplate how your childhood had been,
And through it all you will see us again,
Friendship preserved in receding memory with oblivious strain.

That's the time you will want to meet us all,
But soon you will realize the circle once large has grown very small,
So act while you have the time,
Keep the memories but don't lose on friendships so early in your prime.
