11 High Notes From K-Pop Tracks So Impressive They Deserve To Be Shared

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Vocal range definitely isn't the only measure of a singer's talent, but there's something just so impressive about a good high note. It can add a lot of feeling to a powerful ballad or a gorgeous musicality to a peppy pop track. K-pop is full of great examples, but here are just a few that really shine

NCT 127 - "Simon Says"

There are a lot of super talented vocalists in NCT, so you can bet that they take advantage of that fact when it comes to their songs. "Simon Says" is just one of the many NCT tracks with a really killer bridge, and eldest member Taeil's high note in this one is so fantastic that you have to hear it to believe it.

Ella - "I CAN'T STOP ME"

Ella is well-known as the group's power house vocalist, and Ella really brought her A-game to her solo song "I CAN’T STOP ME." The ad-libs during the choruses are definitely some of Ella's best, and she add a whole new dimension to the song.

TXT - "MOA Diary"

This adorable TXT song is completely dedicated to the group's fans, MOA. It's pretty cool that the most difficult riff in the group's entire discography so far comes from this track, because it shows how committed the members are to showing their best to MOA. Vocalist Taehyun really pulled all the stops on this riff, because it's super high.

aespa - "Savage"

The cool part about "Savage" is that it lets the aespa members show off what they're best at, highlighting smooth rap sections and some seriously powerful vocals. There's something so satisfying about the transition between the vocal lines and the rap parts, and Ningning really slays the ultra-high ad lib in the bridge.

SEVENTEEN - "Pretty U"

Right from the stunning a capella intro, you can tell that this song is going to have some fantastic vocals. "Pretty U" features a truly impressive run from vocalist Seungkwan, which is actually highlighted better in the live stage than the recorded track. That's even more impressive.

NMIXX - "O.O"

"O.O" may be NMIXX's debut track, but their vocals sound like seasoned pros. Eldest member Lily in particular shows off some pretty remarkable stuff, with a smooth, almost jazz-like run in the middle of the song. She's also already proven that she sounds just as flawless singing it with no track, which is an amazing skill.

ATEEZ - "Black Cat Nero"

This is a cover of the original Turbo track "Black Cat Nero" from ATEEZ's time on "Immortal Songs 2," and it's definitely a memorable one. Aside from the group's hard-hitting performance, maknae Jongho's high note really makes the song stand out. Just when you think the note can't possibly get any higher, Jongho keeps singing.

IU - "Good Day"

"Good Day" was released 10 years before this performance, but IU proves that she can still hit the high note just as flawlessly. Her stability when singing the run is incredible, especially when considering just how long she can hold the note. She's a legendary singer in K-pop for a good reason.

Stray Kids - "Neverending Story"

Stray Kids as a group isn't necessarily known for heartfelt ballads, but "Neverending Story" proves that they should be. Originally released as an OST, the vocals are beautiful. The high notes are stable and smooth, especially when you consider the fact that the highest note in the song comes from Han - who is a rapper.

Red Velvet - "Happiness"

In the debut heard 'round the world, Red Velvet made a splash with "Happiness." One of the most memorable parts is vocalist Wendy's iconic high note from the bridge, which is part of why this debut stood out so much in the K-pop world. Wendy is undeniably talented, and her vocals are fabulous.

BTS - "Magic Shop"

"Magic Shop" is a very special song for BTS fans, not just because it holds a lot of meaning - but because it also showcases some of the group's best vocals. The high notes in the chorus prove that the group is filled with stellar singers, and the live performance also includes some really cool ad-libs that only add to the "wow" factor.
