Y/n was on her way home from work. Vinnie had texted her that he was at her house with her brother. Y/n pulls into the drive way and walks into the house. She sees Vinnie and her brother sitting at the kitchen table eating Chinese food.

Vinnie - Hey I got you your favorite. Come sit

He remembers

Y/n sat down and started eating. The meal consisted of many laughs between the three of them. It was starting to feel like old times. When everything was the way it should be.

Y/n started cleaning up and throwing away the trash. When she over heard Vinnie talking.

Vinnie- I have to leave by Sunday, I have a movie premiere to go to.

A movie premiere? Wow

Brother- Must be nice to have to do that for work. But I can't imagine there always being cameras around. So I'm fine here

Vinnie- Yeah that's what bothers me the most, constantly having eyes on me. But it comes with the job, and ultimately I wouldn't trade this for any other job.

Vinnie got up from the dining room table.

Vinnie- You ready to go?

He says looking at Y/n.

Y/n- What? Right now? Where are we going? Can i at least change out of these clothes?

Vinnie- So many questions

He laughs

Vinnie- Hurry and change I'll be waiting in the car.

Y/n goes to her room and grabs the first thing she sees. Y/n doesn't care if the outfit matches or not. Putting on shoes she walks out and into the kitchen area grabbing her wallet.

Y/n gets into his car and puts on the seat belt.

Y/n- So where are we going?

Vinnie- Have to stop by my house real quick to grab something if you don't mind

Y/n- Thats fine

Vinnie starts driving toward his house with the radio playing. Y/n turns to him and can't help by reminisce.

This really feels like old times.
But different.
We've grown up.
We're more mature.
We're not the same kids we were two years ago.

Vinnie- Why are you staring at me

Vinnie says teasing Y/n. She snaps out of her thoughts not realizes she was staring. Y/n faces forward with a small smile

Y/n- Sorry. Was just thinking

Vinnie- About what?

Y/n- Just wondering where you're taking me is all

Vinnie- I'm not telling you

As Vinnie says that they pull up to his house and turns off the car.

He gets down and runs to the other side to open the door for Y/n.

Vinnie- Come on you're coming inside. We'll leave in a bit

Y/n just smiles and walks in with Vinnie.

Vinnie- Mom

Maria- VINNIE STOP YELLING

Vinnie- Sorry was just looking for you and you weren't answering me

Maria comes around the corner and stops when she sees Y/n and Vinnie standing next to each other.

Maria- Sweetie. How are you? Come here

She goes and hugs Y/n

Y/n- I'm good. How are you and Nate?

Maria- We're good. So you and?

She looks at Vinnie then at Y/n then back to Vinnie again.

Vinnie notices

Vinnie- Mom come on. Don't be weird

Y/n just smiles

Maria- I've known Y/n long enough that she doesn't think i'm weird right

Y/n- He certainly hasn't seen us party together

Maria- Oh yeah now that's weird

Y/n- Maybe just a little

Vinnie- Y'all party together? Since when?

Maria- Since you moved to LA

Awkward

Vinnie- Oh. Well anyway just wanted to tell you i'm missing dinner. Hanging out with Y/n today.

Maria- Okay that's fine. I'm heading out to the store. Do you need anything?

Vinnie- No I'm good

Maria walks out of the house and Vinnie starts walking toward his room.

Vinnie- Come on

Y/n is hesitant but she follows. It feels like yesterday she was coming over and going into Vinnie's room but it's been over two years since she's been in there.

Vinnie walks in and Y/n walks in after

The exact same.

Vinnie sees Y/n staring at something.

Vinnie- Oh yeah. I still have those up... If that's okay with you

Y/n- Those pictures were always my favorite.

Y/n- Why do you still have them up?

Vinnie looks down trying to figure out what to say

Vinnie- Honestly I tried to take them down, but I couldn't. Those pictures not being there hurt me more than them not being there. It was comforting so see you every time I came home. Even if it was just in pictures.

Y/n goes up to Vinnie and hugs him. Vinnie hugs her back and whispers in her ear

Vinnie- Please. This time will be different. I promise you.
