"What is she doing?" Harry asked Charlie stepping into the Lupin kitchen where Charlie and Alexa stood Alexa far away in her own world staring at the mirror on the wall
"Catoptromancy I think" Charlie shrugged
"What's that?"
"Divination through mirrors she's looking at a place normally if she's looking at a person she'd be moving to see where she could see the person when they move"
"Why?"
"Calms her down especially with how close they were her and Sirius" Charlie smiled missing the grimace on Harry's face at the thought that Sirius cared more for the young Lupin then for him Alexa however didn't miss it in the mirror she had also heard Harry's thoughts
"Let us have the room Charlie" She said quietly not moving her gaze from the mirror
"He cared for us equally you know" She sighed turning to look at the boy that had started to back away wanting to get out of the room being met with a closed door
"I didn't say anything" He muttered
"You didn't have to we were closer because I'm older I was 6 when you were born 7 when he went to Azkaban I had more time with him but he loved you and he wished he had more time with you but time isn't always on our side you of all people should know that"
"What was it he fell into?"
"It's a portal of sort between life and death"
"Can he come back through?"
"I don't know we don't know how it works to be completely honest I'm not sure we ever will find out death is something that should not be played with even by mega-witches"
"But you can't die"
"I can just not as easily I'm still susceptible to physical harm Sirius would not want to risk mine or my mothers life even if it meant he'd come back now come on can't have both the god children being late" Alexa smiled giving Harry a half hug as they walked out of the door

"What about astral projection? The body would be safe then" Bill wondered now that him, Alexa and Charlie were left in the Lupin conservatory everyone else tucking into bed
"I'd still need an anchor to get out" Alexa shrugged the veil was too much of a risk without an anchor she couldn't risk getting stuck in there
"What would you need to create an anchor?" Bill asked
"Something meaningful something to tether me here plus I'd need something to anchor Sirius to to pull him out after me"
"I'm gonna go get more tea you two better have found an anchor by the time I get back" Bill smiled slyly half running back into the yard and into the house
"What in the name of Merlin was that about?" Alexa asked looking over at Charlie who had a matching smile to that of his brother bringing one arm around her shoulders
"I might have told you a little lie I didn't really need to spend 4 days training the new guy it was a one day job but I needed a little extra time to get this" He smiled opening his hand

"I thought you didn't believe in marriage" She breathed caught completely off guard
"Crazy what love can do isn't it? So? What do you say?" He smiled not at all nervous like he expected to be
"Yes Charlie it's beautiful"
"No crying we have to get Sirius back but now you have an anchor so get to anchoring" He beamed putting the ring into her hand

"Pull me out in 10 minutes no more no less got it?" Alexa instructed the two brothers having anchored herself to her engagement ring clutching the locket she had gotten from James, Lily and Sirius for her first birthday in her hand
"Be careful okay" Charlie whispered hugging her tightly kissing her forehead
"I will be" She smiled lying down on the couch

"It didn't work did it?" Gabriela asked the next morning while she and Alexa did the stable work having known about the 3 young adults plan to get Sirius back
"It did he just didn't want to go" Alexa sighed feeling defeated in her efforts
"Oh Lexa I'm so sorry you gave him the choice that's what matters and we know that if it's necessary we can go in to see him" Gabriela whispered hugging her daughter tightly
"Did I ever tell you how much I adore your engement ring dad did good with it" Alexa smiled looking at her mothers engagement ring that had once belonged to her great great grandmother

"If only he was just as good at hiding it, I'm sure you'll love yours just as much when that time comes" Gabriela smiled holding her hand out so they could both look at it
"I do" Alexa smiled putting her hand on her mothers their rings side by side
"Sweet Merlin when did this happen?"
"Last night I was just as surprised"
"I thought he didn't believe in marriage"
"That's what I said now do me a favour just say nothing to anyone we want to see how long it takes people to notice on their own"
"Who else knows?"
"Bill apparently now let's go to breakfast before dad starts to worry" Alexa smiled pulling her mother along back inside
