"We could all be dead by morning I'm just managing expectations" I shrugged
"You would have seen if we die optimism darling optimism is what we need right now"

"Ready Lex?" He asked looking at the force field that was slowly crumbling
"I'm ready for this to be over" I let out a shaky breath unable to hide the fact that I was scared
"Me too my love tell you what when we get home we're barricading ourselves in the house for a few days no visitors no obligations just you and I in bed" He said pulling me into a hug pressing a kiss to the top of my head
"As great as that sound we have animals that needs taking care off" I sighed
"Alright we'll leave the bed to take care of the horses and then go right back to bed" He chuckled as we watched the last of the force field fall
"Here we go be careful okay I love you" I told him
"I love you more" And with one last kiss we went our separate ways

The one fight I had secretly hoped for was with Greyback part of me wanted him to suffer like he had made the countless people he had turned suffer and the other part of me just wanted to kill him quickly but when I had the chance it was like my powers took on a life of their own a black smoke emerging from my hands surrounding him making him both cough and yell in pain I could only guess that the smoke burned in some sense and felt as thick as it looked in his throat he had only just stopped coughing when another 4 death eaters came down the hallway setting their sights on me as the only standing person there muttering about how easy beating me would be

I lit the smoke on fire pushing it towards them running to the girl on the floor while they were all screaming trying to put themselves out she was badly injured I picked her up to get her to the arrivals hall not wanting to waste powers healing someone when there was somebody doing that in the somewhat safe confines of the arrivals hall
"Lex are you okay Merlin what happened?" Charlie asked looking to see where I was hurt
"It's not mine Charlie none of it's mine at least not on my clothes I got a brick to the head a few hours ago but I'm okay what's happening?" I asked not sure why there was such a silence with no fights
"You didn't hear? you know who called off his forces for an hour hoping Harry surrenders"
"I didn't hear anything I didn't hear him earlier either I don't think I can"
"It doesn't matter as long as your okay" He breathed pulling me into a hug
"What is it what do you know that I don't and don't you dare lie to me Weasley" The way he hugged me told me everything I needed to know I didn't need to read his mind to know something was off
"It's your parents Kingsley brought them down 10 minutes ago"
"Where are they I can fix them" I said tears welling up in my eyes as I scanned the rows of people that were injured not wanting to look at the rows of the deceased but finding myself looking anyways Charlie hot on my heals
"You can't fix them Lexa there's nothing you can do" He whispers holding me tightly as I fall to my knees broken sobs the only sound I can get out
"Go be with your siblings Charlie they'll need you I got her" I could make out James voice over the muffled conversations I had been able to pick up everything had been muffled like it was a million miles away
"I got you mini moon I got you" He said rocking me back and fourth like he did when I was a child and was sad he was affected too this was the last of his friend group to die in this war and this time there was no way of getting them back I had destroyed the veil I had destroyed my only way of getting them back I knew I had done the right thing but right now it felt like the worst decision ever
"What's happened?" I asked Ron's broken sob 'No' I broken me from the trance that was my parents deaths my head snapping towards the sound
"It's Fred he's gone"
"Teddy?" I exclaimed my own little brother now forefront of my thoughts
"He's with Lily at home they're fine" James reassured me
