chapter three

Camila stepped into the ballroom looking for her daughter, she looked around the room and spotted most of the people she never intended to see again.

The three women quickly turned her way when her name was called. Camila quickly made her way towards her daughter.

"Where's Val?" She mumbled, sighing in relief as Cindy pointed to the door behind her.

Camila went inside as Pricilla approached Cindy.

"Cindy, I'd like to show you off to all my new relatives and friends," Pricilla smiled at her.

Before Cindy could protest Pricilla took her hand as they began to walk past people one by one she introduced Cindy.

"Where's the other bride to be?" Cindy asked.

"She's in her room cooling off as well. The two lovebirds won't come out until their names are announced. Ah, the people who've wanted to meet you."

When Cindy looked at the group she realized that it was the woman she spilled all the iced tea on.

"This little beauty beside me is Cindy."

"Hello," Cindy smiled politely at the three women that just stared at her, "what?" she was beginning to feel self conscious.

"You look exactly like Camila..." Dinah breathed as she tightened her grip on Normani's hand.

"Oh yeah!" Cindy smiled, "she's my mom!" She said proudly as she flung her arms out and hit someone square on the face.

Hoping it was A, she turned around slowly, "oops," she bit her lip.

"I knew I was the only one you bumped in to," Naya giggled, rubbing her forehead, "so we're going to the same wedding, huh?"

"Yeah," Cindy smirked. Everyone knew that smirk they just couldn't remember who it belonged to.

"It was nice meeting you all!" Cindy smiled one last time as A escorted her and Pricilla to their seats as a man announced the couples arrival.

"Valentina Cabello and Lauren Jauregui."

Cindy stood up and looked at her mother for the first time in her life as tears gathered in her eyes.

Suddenly she felt all the energy in her drain, she mustered up all that she had left to run out of the ballroom. Camila gasped and her motherly instinct took over her.

"Cindy!" She called out running towards the door that seemed so far away.

"Chancho?" Dinah called out.

Camila glanced at their table and then looked towards the stage. There she saw the eyes that she had been dreaming about for the last sixteen years.

Tears fell from her eyes as she ran out of the room and bumped into A.

"Where were you?" Camila growled in anger.

"I was in the bathroom."

"Cindy just ran out. We have to find her," Camila's tears were now flowing freely as they searched all around the hotel.

"I had no idea she still had contact with Lauren," Normani rubbed her forehead as they walked towards the lobby and got Camila's room from the information counter.

"It's not Lauren she's here for... She's marrying her cousin."

Dinah and Normani made their way up to Camila's room.

"Knock three times, Mani..."

"Why?" Normani asked.

"Good luck?"
