P.O.V third person

"You mean the whole fucking world to me, do you know that?"

The man cried, his curly hair falling in front of his reddened face as he held himself tightly, hoping for a bit of comfort from the feeling.

"I... I'm sorry."

That was all Kai could muster, watching Ray as he desperately held onto himself and let loose his tears, the disheveled man only seeming to cry more.

Kai tried to find the right words to say, he thought through scenarios of options and couldn't find any to settle on. He wasn't sure what to do. The best option was to try and physically comfort the stranger, putting a hand on his shoulder, kneeling down to Ray's slouched figure.

The dark-haired male leaned into Kai's touch, craving the familiar warmth he lost for all those years. The comfort he wish he never took for granted. He let out muffled sobs into Kai's sweater, grasping onto it as if it was the thing keeping him alive, as if he would let go and it would be the end.
The two stayed like that for a while, Ray soaking up the warmth, Kai rubbing small circles onto the others back, uttering small words of comfort.
Ray gently pushed himself off Kai, keeping his head down and his gaze locked onto the ground beneath them.

"I miss you."

The silence following was unbearable. Ray missed Kai's touch, his voice, the warmth he felt when the two were together. But right now, all he was feeling was cold. This wasn't the Kai he knew. This wasn't the Kai he was engaged to. This wasn't his Kai.
The raven-haired male broke down once again, the other still confused about what was going on.

"Did... Did I do something wrong?" Kai questioned, putting a hand to the others shoulder, only for it to be pushed away.

"No, no, it's just... I... fuck." Ray rested his head in the palm of his hand, taking a moment to breathe. The amount of emotions making the room they were in feel tense. Not necessarily and awkward tense, but it was more of an uncertain atmosphere.
Kai just observed the man, his thoughts clouded by questions of who he is and how he knew him. His train of thought was broken by a voice. It wasn't Ray's however.

"Do I know you?" He heard himself say it. It slipped out so easily, but he knew the other would not handle it well. He didn't mean to say it.

Ray had the most blank look on his face, the tears still streaming out of his eyes. No sound came from him, just a empty look complemented by tears.
His eyebrows furrowed and his whole demeanour switched.

"Fuck you Kai. Fuck. You." Ray spat, confusing the blue haired man. Just how close did they use to be?

"Pardon?" Kai muttered, confusion written all over his face.

"You know, I was doing fine! I was getting better!" The disheveled man stood from where he broke down, running a hand through his curls and letting out a heavy sigh through his upturned lips. "I was doing fine, really. Then you waltz back in like you didn't break my fucking heart!"
