After the blinding light vanished, Aresu slowly regained consciousness, only to be greeted by a searing pain that surged through his head and lower back, reminiscent of a harsh blow from a wooden bat. His senses gradually awakened as he attempted to make sense of his surroundings. As his eyes struggled to adjust to the sudden and intense brightness enveloping him, he noticed a small crowd of bewildered onlookers who had stopped in their tracks to observe this enigmatic newcomer.

Aresu, groaning softly, pushed himself upright, his hands instinctively reaching out to brush away the grime and dust that clung to his disheveled clothing. It was only then that he became acutely aware of his strange predicament. He had been lying on what appeared to be a dirt road, its uneven surface further contributing to the discomfort coursing through his body. The texture of the dirt road beneath his fingertips was rough and uneven, and as he scanned the surroundings, he couldn't help but wonder how he had ended up in this unfamiliar place.

Aresu rubbed his throbbing temples, his voice a mixture of frustration and bewilderment. He muttered to himself, "Eesh, my head hurts like hell. How are you holding up, Meowlith... huh, Meowlith, where the hell are you? More importantly, where am I? I could have sworn that I was in my bedroom a minute ago. Why am I in the middle of some broken-down part of town?"

His surroundings had undergone a radical transformation, shifting from the familiarity of his gaming room to the cobbled streets of an old-fashioned merchant district. The roads were uneven, coated in a layer of dirt that clung to his shoes. Nearby buildings, while adhering to the architectural style of his world, radiated a sense of antiquity.

In the distance, a cluster of larger structures drew his gaze, one in particular towering substantially over the rest. It struck him as the possible abode of a ruler or someone of great importance.

The residents of this perplexing realm added to the surreal scene. A mix of beings traversed the street; some were human, while others exhibited lizard-like or cat-human hybrid characteristics. But one presence was notably absent: Meowlith.

Aresu's racing thoughts found solace in a newfound revelation, and he couldn't help but speak his thoughts aloud, "So let me get this straight, just a few seconds ago, I was texting some stranger about making my game life more realistic, and in return, I ended up here. HOLD ON, did he ACTUALLY make Fontur a real-life game for me? In other words, I've been Isekai'd? HELL YEAH, I've always wanted to have another life, although I wonder how NPCs will interact with me."

With the realization of his sudden change of scenery, Aresu now sets off to ask one of the locals if he knows of their current location, a general question that all NPC's could answer for players if they got lost in game.

Aresu approached a tall and muscular man who was busy selling produce at a nearby stall.

"Hello there, good sir," Aresu greeted.

The merchant responded with a forced smile, "Hi there, willing to try our brand new fruit called..."

Aresu, growing impatient, cut him off sharply, "Skip."

The merchant's smile faded into an indignant scowl. "Excuse me?" he retorted.

Aresu's tone grew even more resolute, "I said skip. I don't want to endure the mindless banter of an NPC merchant. You're going to ask if I want to buy fruit or something, right? And then you'll drone on about your current deals, blah, blah, blah. Listen, I just want an answer to the standard question: Where am I?"

The merchant's face flushed with anger, his muscles tensing as he leaned in closer.

"Did I offend you in some way?" he spat, his voice dripping with frustration. "Do you think you're superior to me just because I'm a humble merchant selling produce to those in need? You may be new here, but let me make one thing clear, bud: I've had my fill of your type, the ones who swagger in here thinking they own the place!"
