Sound Check

You honestly hated this job

You walk around on stage , backstage, long hallways. Only to tap mics and deal with douche bags.

You travel a lot which is a plus, but you have your main stages where you have your run ins with trashy bands or touchy creeps .

This week you had a band to go through the cities of Cali with. Luckily you had a crew and wasn't stuck with a one on one.
Every band/ performer came with a portfolio. Who was performing, their names and preferences such as their own sound and unique tunes.

You had look at their portfolio, you had a day to memorize names and a few facts until their first show tomorrow.

You took out the first and went through everything.

* James Hetfield*
"This guy looks nuts"
You read that he's "the lead" of the band and is vocals .

You flip to the next

*Cliff Burton*
"This guy looks actually normal, and tall as hell"
You read that he's the bass player and is known to help out sound crew with harmonizing their parts

The next..

*Lars Ulrich*
"Yeah, this guy actually looks fucking nuts"
You read he's the drummer and so many comments on his behavior and short temper. But all you could do was laugh at the notes

There was one left

*Kirk Hammett*
"Aww he's so handsome "
You read that he's really helpful to the crew and is the lead guitarist .

After studying on the guys. You went to work to set up their stage for tomorrow. You had 16 hours before meeting with the band . Where you'd spend time with them through the 4 cities they were touring

*Next day*

You were back stage setting up their practice room waiting for the guys to come in and give the agenda

You were just organizing the cords when three people walked in talking

"Oh shit, this is fucking cool"

You turned and saw Lars looking at the platform you put his 2nd set on

You saw that your partner on everything, Ron had walked in Lars and Kirk.

"Hey, the other guys are running behind. But I brought them in so you could show them some stuff. I gotta meeting with Matt and Kevin. So I'll be back in an hour. -(Ron turned to Lars and Kirk)
"Guys this is Y/N, she's basically the boss around here. Knows any and everything. Whatever you need you could come to her"
You two shared a look and he walked out

Lars was still looking at the equipment you set up and Kirk was just mesmerized by you and the "intro"

"Hi, I'm y/n . It's nice to finally meet you "
You put your hand out

"So I've heard, your also boss lady around here "
He shook your hand and started to pace around

"This shit really is dope. I love the placement of everything." He started looking at his area you set up

"Thanks. I've been doing it for years"
You took a seat and started to fill out some papers

"Hey, you're gonna be with us for all the cities this segment right?"
Kirk leaned against some speaker waiting for a response

"Shit man. I fucking hope so. This whole thing is better then whatever set up we've had. Hell me and you might just have to kidnap her if she doesn't "
Lars started laughing at his little joke before he left out

"Yeah.." he trailed off

"You're really beautiful by the way. And I love how you work, It would be a shame if you didn't come along"
Kirk winked and walked out
