Some guy yelled to us from the top of the stairs

Me and the guys were in the back smoking and taking some pictures

"So yeah, like I was saying. This festival is bad ass, so many drunks it's hilarious"
Lars laughed about the naked drunk guy we saw streaking through the field earlier today

We were asked to play at this festival last minute due to a band dropping out . By last minute I mean, yesterday we were asked

We were the second to last to perform

"So you're telling me we have no set list?" James was talking to the manager who was pissed just as much as us.

To be fair, this wasn't what we expected our first fest performance to be like.

"Any idea who's performing after" you went to talk to Cliff

"That badass band, 'District Oath'"

"No way! With Frank lanzo and -" 
"That crazy hot guitar chick. Yeah that's the one"
Cliff nodded and began to talk about the bassist

You've listened to this band for about a year now, but you were absolutely obsessed with the guitarist . She was one of a few out there who played music like you guys
The only ones who listened to them were you and Cliff, it's one of the things you both bonded over

The 15 mins passed by and it was time for your performance

——————time skip to after the performance————

The crowd really enjoyed the songs and it wasn't as bad as you thought. Some even knew the songs

You all exited the stage and we're going to the back with busses and trailers When you noticed a small crowd near your bus

"Hey, you guys did great out there"

You looked to your right to see the guitarist you mentioned earlier

In your head you were freaking out but you had to remain calm

Our band was last to perform, so we were able to watch Metallica on stage

After their last song we came out to the busses to pre game a little before we were on

You went to grab some beers and notice the boys coming back to the busses

"Hey, you guys did great out there"
You smiled and handed him a beer

"Uh, thanks. It's our first time playing at a festival "

He seemed nervous

"Really? Well for your first time you really got the crowd going. I've never heard anything like it. You're Kirk , right?"

"Yeah.. I'm Kirk"

He seemed too bashful to talk, so much that he sipped his beer to keep from saying anything else .

You took that as a sign to leave

"Well, Kirk. It was nice to meet you. Again, amazing performance. Congratulations "

You waved and went off with your band

While playing the last song, you could see Kirk and his band on the side off with a few others watching you guys play

You ended it with your solo which included the traditional fire and fireworks .

You saw the guys go crazy at the visuals along with the crowd

You grabbed the mic before leaving
"Thank you guys for rocking with us , I'd like to thank Metallica for coming out. James, Lars, Cliff and Kirk.

(You turned to the guys and motioned them to come on stage)

"You guys killed it, give them a good welcome , theyre badass. "

Everyone cheered and the boys all hugged each other in celebration of their first performance this big

After y/n brought us out on stage

All we could do was celebrate all the way to the busses
We've never experienced anything like this before

All the guys were waiting for the bus to get loaded before we took off

"Hey man, isn't she the one you had a huge fantasy about meeting"
Lars came up to you asking about y/n

"Dude shut up, it wasn't like a fantasy. I just always been a little fond of her that's all"

All the guys watched her grab a beer

"Go talk to her, I heard you basically blew it last time "
James tried to wing man me

"I didn't blow it, I just didn't know what to say "
You started to get irritated by the fact you could leave any minute and then it'll really be blown

"Here, I'll help you out "
Lars pushed you in the direction of y/n

Shit..

Luckily she only saw me stumble, but still caught me and held me upright?
"Woah.. hey. You okay? "

You snuck a look at the guys

Lars mouthed "act drunk "

"Yeah, just chugged a couple beers . I'm alright"

She laughed and started to help me to a seat

God, her laugh was beautiful

"Here, you can sit here with me "

You looked at her and smiled

"You're beautiful"

"Thanks Kirk, and I think you're very handsome "

Some guy came by and handed her a bag tell her her it was sandwiches from the bus

"Here, you can have it. Hopefully it prevents any hangover"

I felt bad due to me pretending to be drunk

She was the nicest person ever

Our managers came over and asked for us all to huddle

Of course , y/n walked over with me and put a arm around my waist which gave me butterflies

"Alright, so we've done a lot of talking. And looking at the amount of shows and traveling. We've decided that roger and I will be combining this years tour and having Metallica open up for 'District Oath'"

After the announcement , a lot of the guys cheered and was happy about the opportunity

To be honest, you were probably the most excited. You just had to remain nonchalant

Y/n looked at you and got closer
"Looks like we'll have more time to get to know each other. That way you're a friend instead of a fan"
She giggled

Of course Cliff told her

"It's okay, it's cute. And honestly after hearing you play, i would be a fan too. You're definitely worth the excitement"
