lloyd's pov

kai insisted on coming with me to visit the family. i think he still feels bad for not telling me about harumi.

ever since i visited her in kryptarium prison, i haven't been able to stop thinking about her. it's getting really annoying. im just such a mess right now.

i hop out of kai's car as we park by an old apartment building that's being used for people who lost their homes to the whole sons of garmadon thing.

"alright. this is the return address on the letter." kai says.

we walk up to the doors, but right before we enter, kai stops me and says, "are you sure you wanna go through with this? you can just forget about harumi! she's in prison, we never have to see her again."

"thanks, but... i just need to know." i say.

"...okay then" kai replies, but he doesn't sound very okay with it.

the family is living on the third floor so we take the elevator up. the elevator has a mirror on the walls. i glance at my reflection. i look exhausted.

"they should be in room 308," kai informes me.

"let's see," i read doors as we pass by them in the hallway. "306, 307... here it is."

i knock on the door and it creaks open, and a small face pops out. a little kid looks up at me.

"uh, hey" i say. i never really know what to say to kids. "are your parents home?"

the kid doesn't answer the question, they just say, "ninja!!" and ran up and hug me and kai.

"looks like he's a fan" kai points out.

  "really? i hadent noticed."

a women about 30 walks out the door. her eyes widen.

"oh im so sorry about them." she says.

"it's all good." i smile at her. "if you'll let us, we have a few questions to ask you?"

  "yes, yes, come on in."
