Forever Mine

The Box

Yelena's pov:

Me and Kate agreed to tell her family about our relationship over diner.

We sat at the table quietly before I spoke.

"we are together" I said.

"WHAT?" my father said almost choking on his food.

"knew it" Natasha smirked.

My mother just stayed silent.

"me and Kate are together now!" I smiled.

"that box you found the other day, I think it's time to open it" Mother tried to change the subject.

Natasha went to grab the box and the key we found for it. She placed it on the table and carefully unlocked it.

The box contained old picture of me and Natasha when we were young, picture we drew and... The tape to my favourite song back then... American pie.

"a time capsel?" I asked.

Natasha smiled and nodded. Mother and Father burried it after we was sent to the red room, they promised that we'd find it and open it which we did.

"my song" I held the tape, tears running down my face as I was taken back to the moment I last heard it.

Kate came over and took a look at the picture.

"you guys were so cute as children" She said in awe hugging me from behind.

"cute?"I chuckled "I'm supposed to be strong and fearless".

"you are those too don't worry" Kate said as we all laughed.

"I love you" Kate whispered on my ear.

"I love you too".

I kept the picture in an album and kept the tape. I kept the box aswell i'case I ever wanted to do the time capsel later on in life.

It seemed like a fun activity to do and a good activity to find it years later.

I sat in bed with Kate looking through all the pictures again.

"I was so innocent and shy then unlike how I am today" I said.

"i mean your still like a child sometimes" kate jokinly said.

"I guess I can be like a child sometimes" I chickeld

"I find it cute though" Kate kisses my cheek.
