Nico should've known that when the Seven asks you to join them on a quest, you should say no and leave as fast as you can.
Alas, when Hazel came up to him for help with a recent request from Hephaestus, he didn't refuse. Apparently, the blacksmith god had his favorite gadget stolen, and he was sure it was by his wife, Aphrodite. According to Leo, his dad said the invention was so dangerous, he couldn't even tell the demigods what it did for he thought the power would corrupt them.
Gods, what's wrong with the Gods?
But the Seven and Nico made their way to one of Aphrodite's favorite places in hopes of finding her. Leo, Piper, and Annabeth rode Festus. Frank turned into a dragon as well and carried Hazel and Percy while Jason flew holding a very upset Nico.
"If you drop me, Grace, I swear to Gods-"
"Calm down, Nico. This is just like Aladdin!"
"No it isn't."
"I can show you the world~"
"I can show you my sword if you don't shut up."Eventually, the crew made it to Aphrodite's summer home, where Hephaestus said she'd be. Though the closer they got, the colder it became.
Leo rubbed his arms. "Is it just me, or is this place a little too cold for a summer home."
Percy nodded. "He's right. Why is there so much snow in Miami?"
Frank the dragon growled, though no one knew what that meant.
"It feels almost... familiar." Piper said. "I don't like this. Maybe we should turn back."
"And get obliterated by Leo's dad? No thanks." Nico argued. Easy for him to say. He was the only one wearing a jacket.
"Let's survey the area. Maybe figure out what's going on here before we just barge in." Annabeth offered.
Hazel nodded. "Sounds good. Wish we had some coats, though."
Leo smiled his elfish grin. "Don't worry, folks. Bad Boy Supreme has got you covered."
...
Leo managed to make six coats in under five minutes, which has to be a world record somewhere. He even made a hat for Nico that had the words 'Ghost King' stitched on the front.
"I'll wear it." Nico said. "But only because it's freezing."
The looked around the house like Annabeth suggested, but found nothing. No monsters, no traps, and not a single handmaiden, which was very un-Aphrodite like.
"It's like everyone disappeared." Frank said.
"Well," Percy reached into his pocket for Riptide. "The only place we haven't check is inside. Let's go, everyone."
The demigods rushed into... an empty room.
"Huh. How anticlimatic." Piper muttered.
Then, a flash of snow flew across the room.
Jason didn't even have time to shout when he realized where it was heading.
"Nico, move!"
It hit Nico right in the chest, giving Jason a horrible feeling of déjà vu from the Cupid incident.
"Nico!" Hazel called out, running to her brother. He looked physically fine, if anything, just a little dazed. Booming laughter was heard.
"Enough games!" Percy yelled. "Come out!"
"Wait. I know what this is. The cold, the snow. It's because of-"
"Me."
Two women appeared in front of the demigods. The one who spoke had a head of lush black hair and skin so pale it looked like snow. She wore a white dress. She was rather plain compared to the woman next to her, whose appearance kept changing so often no one could keep track.
