Jade...

I was conscious even though I didn't open my eyes. . I couldn't open my eyes. I could hear my aunt crying with one of my hands in hers. I know she must be terrified. She had told me that she couldn't survive if she lost me too. First her parents,( my grandparents). I hadn't seen them. I know they died when aunt was fifteen and mom was twenty. After that, she lost her sister, then her husband. Her life is a complete tragedy, which is why she didn't agree to me being a bodyguard. She only agreed  because I promised her to keep a distance from Doctor William. She used to call me everyday. She enquired about my daily activities, like whom I met, what I did and so on. I still haven't told her about that day when Aiden got into trouble. I knew that she'd probably take me home and never allow me to be a bodyguard.

Aunt gasped as I heard the door open.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm a doctor, I'm here to examine her, " says the doctor. It must be Dr William. I can hear the familiarity of the voice. "Please wait outside while I examine her."

"I'll stay here. You can examine, while I watch."

"Please listen, I'm a doctor."

I heard the door closing and footsteps approaching me. I felt my head heavy. I felt like losing consciousness again. I think I heard him say, "Why are you so hard to kill?" just before I passed out.

.....

It's been two weeks since I got shot. Now I'm staying at our apartment with my aunt. She hadn't let me go to school and told Michael to let me quit being a bodyguard anymore. which I resisted, but she insisted on her decision. Aiden came to visit me twice with George , Adam, and Aaron. Emma and Peter were mad at me for not telling him about being Aiden's bodyguard while the rest did.

I'm healing and mostly healed. Even though it still hurts whenever the wounded part is collided with something else, I'm okay. My aunt has taken me a long leave. She insisted I stay here for this long, but it'll end today as I'm going to school tomorrow.

I was lying in my bed, lost in thought, and all that stayed with me was what the doctor said,

Why are you so hard to kill?

Did he mean it? He wouldn't have. But then, did Aunt know about this? Was that why she hesitated?

"Jade!" Someone called, Not Aunt, it's a male. I gazed at where the sound came from to see Aiden at the door.. I quickly sat up, making my back ache, I winced..

"Take it easy, jade, don't rush," says Aiden, walking to me.

"I'm not rushing," I say .I rubbed my back hoping it would erase my pain.

"Alright, Alright," he says. "Well..."" he hesitated. "I got a new bodyguard!"

"That's good! Is he? "? "I stopped. "Is that a male or female?"

"It's a male," he chuckles, "a professional bodyguard. That's been his job."

"That's good," I was relieved.. I don't have any complaints regarding him getting a new bodyguard. Even if I haven't fulfilled my duty as bodyguard, Michael still paid me the money he offered.  He is a man of his word. I feel a bit embarrassed for not being able to fulfil the first job I got,
 ""Is he older?"

"Yes," he says, taking a seat on the chair beside my bed. "He is in his late thirties, I think, but I don't feel as good and safe as I felt with you."

That got me in the gut.. I stared at him.

"Jade, I....." He hesitated. Before he could complete, there was a knock on the door and was interrupted by a man who I assumed was his bodyguard. He smiled at me.
