upon pounds upon pounds of concrete
growing sturdily through frost and windAs they frolic and wave
Dancing to the hymnals earth plays
Embracing the sun's love
And lavishing the moons' waters
Blooming in Yellow
Blooming in Red
Blooming Orange
And Blooming in Purple
From the earth every spring
Twinkling so bright
They gather and chant together again
Awaking from their slumber
These sleeping beauties are kissed (with love) from the sun and showered by the moon
Singing till their last day
As church bells on a Sunday morning
Shining as stained glass windows through the evening
Displaying their affection, ever so proud
Holding hands, on the first day
Till kissing farewell, "I'll find you once more, I'll find you next spring"
