"You know, I and Suho don't get along, right?" I laughed like I was going insane. "That's another reason why you two are our highlight pair; first you two look good." She smiled. "Individually, you have a point, but we won't look good together." I smiled in the most sarcastic way possible. "Yes, you won't look good. You would look perfect!" She raised her brow, daring me to challenge her further.
"Eva, if Cyan doesn't want to, we can just switch up, we don't want to make our classmates uncomfortable, right? I can pair up with Suho..." Ren tried to calm both of us down, but instead, it irked me more.
"No, it's okay- it's fine if she wants me to be with him. I will be. I will manage." I said before Ren could complete his sentence.
"Uhm... So, what's your brilliant plan?" I asked as we got seated beside Suho, ignoring my racing heart. I was so attentive to the space between us that it made me wanna die, even a slight movement from him- gave me goosebumps.
Get a grip Cyan- It's just a crush, it will go away in no time, I repeated it like a mantra that would help me protect my sanity.
"So- Peter you play Charlie and Jason you play Nick from Heartstopper, Ren you guys play Shen Wei and Nat you play Zhao Yulan from the Chinese novel Guardian, and Suho you play Lan Zhan, and Cyan you will play Wei Ying from the Chinese novel called Mo Dao Zu Shi. Now I will forward all the information regarding those characters in the group that I will make- but Suho? I see you are not in the class group-" Evan frowned as she went through her phone.
"I don't use texting apps." Suho said, placing his ancient flip phone gently.
Are you kidding me?!! My thoughts were voiced by a lot of people in the class.
"I will text him everything personally, it will be dealt with." Ren stepped in again. So he did have Suho's number- my brain gave a sarcastic scoff. "We worked on a group project before- communication wouldn't be a problem." He smiled softly at Suho, wtf?
"Uh- Ren, let Cyan do that- even if it's for just 2 to 3 days, but these two need to do some fan service, it's better if they get close." Eva said penning down god knows what, to which Ren agreed.
-x-
"Cyan are you coming along?" Ren asked as we stepped out of the school, and strangely Suho was with us. "Where are you guys heading to?" I asked confused. "To the bookstore!" Joy beamed. "Eva told me I better read and get a bit of character if I don't want to die." Nat pretended to be scared.
"If you are going to do something better do it properly." Ren shrugged, that statement was so Ren that it made me smile.
"Uh, I needed Suho's number by the way-" I whispered to Ren as we stood next to each other in front of the gigantic bookshelf. "Why don't you ask him yourself, it would be a good conversation starter between you two." Ren smiled, picking up books and leaving me behind offended.
I walked out of the alley just to find Ren passing the book he picked to Suho, who smiled back at him- what's with these two?
I walked to the table quite hurriedly, fishing for my phone from my pocket. I placed it on the book Ren had passed before Suho could flip the pages, confused he blinked at me blankly.
"Your number- I need your number." I said looking away, unable to hold eye contact, I wish I get rid of this stupid crush as soon as possible.
"Oh." He whispered, picking up my phone as gently as he could, it almost looked like he was scared to drop it- but maybe I was just imagining the whole thing.
"Here." Was it just me or did Suho has started "talking" talking?
Like before he would just use gestures unless his words were necessary, and well I was someone who got ignored all the time as if I didn't even exist. He has changed, since the group project he has changed- a little but he has, Ren, has managed to crack the high walls Suho had around him.
